Previewing Columbia

Joe Jones made an immediate impact his first season in the league, taking a program that had graduated the top two players off a 2-25 debacle, and turning it into a competitive team. Two stars emerged in forwards Matt Preston and Dragutin Kravic, and both will be asked to shoulder a similar load this season. However, a highly regarded freshman class will have to play a major role this year if the Lions are to build on last year's improvement.
