The station will broadcast the games over-the-air, as a result of a meeting with some U. administrators and then a vote by its student board.

It's a great day for WKCR. It will be a long time before anyone tries to takes basketball off the air.

A huge thanks should go to all of you who wrote letters to the WKCR Board and other Columbia administrators, and even all of you who posted. You helped get the message across that cutting back basketball broadcasts was no acceptable. Also, a great job by Tom Boorstein who stuck his neck out, got dismissed from the station for doing what was right, and ultimately everything worked out. Hooray!
