What should easily be the most contested away game before 2/11 @ the Hart. Was surprised at the lack of production by McN; however, it's nice to see Bettencourt get his stroke back.
Sat. should be another physical game. I swear, McNaughton's going to have his nose busted one of these games. I want to think this'll be a blowout but I think the team's offensive troubles will keep it close.

Donald Brown is emerging as a key player in the 6th man role. He was definitely the spark last night. Without him last night, we don't win. As for McN, if a team sets out to shut him down, they will. Its not the first time Lehigh has done it. It just opens things up for someone else.

To say Brown is emerging is, I think, to understate his importance to the team all this season.
I still think McN's performance was suspect. Sure, shut him down for 7 pts., but 3 boards & 1 assist in 30 min.? Even double-teamed, he's capable of better. Not that I'd trade him ... .

We need Mastopolo to be more effective inside in order to take the pressure off of McN. When the double team hits, McN either needs to find Mas inside or dish it out to Bettencourt, Griffen or Vegotsky for the 3 pointer. Why didn't Vegotsky play last night?

I think the emergence of Brown has completely changed the dynamics. He is a superior athlete to Mastrapaolo can push the open floor.....

i would have been very scared to put him out there on olivero, knight or neptune. he isnt a good enough athlete to cover either of those guys and hasnt gotten comfortable enough yet in the defensive system to use it to his full advantage.
if youre not ready to play defense, youre not going to get into the game. just ask rob thomas.

V would've been overmatched last night. Look forward to next year, though, when that will change.

Flannery said in the post game that he was worried about Jason in that physical of a game. I don't think it's lack of defensive competence (like it is with Rob). I think it was strictly how physical the game was that forced Pat to keep him on the bench. It still would have been interesting to see what he could do with a couple minutes each half. I anticipate seeing plenty of him against Navy, who he torched for 19 last time.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Badmus. In my opinion, he was the MVP - great defense, made the big shots.
Lee didn't have a great game but I saw him do a bunch of the little things right. He's going to break out, it's just a question of when.

I was really impressed with the team effort last night. The Bison were all over the floor on defense - diving after balls - keeping up their hustle despite the fact nothing was falling on offense (and there were plenty of open looks). The intensity peaked as the game went on, which is why they got the "W".
Knight and Olivero are really talented offensively - and a handful to guard, because they can shoot over you or go by you at a moment's notice. That said, they are really loose with the ball (note their 11 combined turnovers).
Keith Hamilton might have 10 steals playing against Lehigh Saturday (his ability to get his hand on the ball and be disruptive is pretty remarkable).
