About five paragraphs into the article there is some love for the student athlete. Including a few mentions of HC & BU.
"the NCAA snub of Syracuse was nothing compared to the NIT snub of Bucknell, which consistently leads the nation for the combination of elite academics and success in high-level athletics. "

I already liked Easterbrook's stuff, who else would suggest in his mock draft that the Washington Redskins select Nancy Pelosi. While almost everything he says usually has his tounge firmly planted in his cheek, this commentary seems actually serious.

And let's not forget the reference that Easterbrook pays to Bucknell's neighbor to the East - Bloomsburg. When discussing New Orleans draft picks, he reminds people that a Bloom grad, Jahri Evans, was drafted by the Saints last year. He closes the Saint's section of the discussion with this lovely quote:
"College note: Bloomsburg reassures prospective students "major chain stores and a mall are nearby."
Of course the same could be said about Bucknell, but I don't believe we post anything like that on the B.U. website.

Hey, I love HuskyBison and Bloomsburg. Both my parents and a brother either graduated or took graduate level courses from there. But I'm not above having a bit of good natured fun in the middle of spring when things are slow. Heck, if a Bison football player was drafted, let alone made an NFL team & had a decent rookie year, I'd be trumpeting it to the rafters.

Not great, but you might call it decent.

I stand corrected - I had forgotten about Conover.

Yes. Conover even started a couple of games for Tennessee down the stretch. For example, here's his name in the starting lineup vs the Giants and Patriotss:

It will be interesting to see how he does with a year of experience and NFL-level weight training. He was also a good tight end for the Bison as well. I wonder if he might ever get a chance to be the third tight end in short yardage situations.
