Harvard hasn't clearly had the best Ivy class since the senior class from this season.

If everyone it has thus far winds up on campus a year from now, it will have that title back.

Cleveland.com says Towns is announcing his selection of Harvard over Ohio State Today!
http://www.cleveland.com/osu/index.ssf/2015/06/set...

I recall that when Chris Lewis committed he mentioned that he was hoping to bring some of his 'friends' with him. The 4* Towns was supposedly who he meant.

If I were Siyani, I'd take a year off and return to play with Edosomwan, Egi, Lewis and Towns in 2016!

Now Harvard needs a playmaking PG to round out the group, and it would put a bow on an outstanding class not only for the league but nationally as well.

OK, so we're thinking neither Christian Juzang nor Tommy McCarthy (OK, he's coming in September) are that player? Or is Juzang more of a combo guard?

Re: Towns, nice Harvard Crimson Article came out on June 16th. Not only did he pick Harvard over Michigan and Ohio State, here's a fun note:

  • In the same interview, Towns—who carries a GPA north of 4.0 and competes on his school's math team—noted that at Harvard he would receive “the best education” and called the Crimson “the right fit.”

Beyond his inspired connection to the campus—the lifelong Harry Potter fan once said he enjoyed his visit to Harvard because it reminded him of Hogwarts—were significant basketball motivations

When I'm thinking about the point guard that Harvard needs, it's a true "drive-the-bus" distributor that can post an assist rate of over 30%.

Both of Juzang and McCarthy strike me as more of the Oliver McNally-type. Can play the point for stretches when it's necessary and can breakdown defenses off the dribble. But they'd be more valuable as shooters or as secondary creators after a true PG has already begun to break down the defense. Much like McNally played off of Brandyn Curry.

Very interesting article on recruits choosing top colleges over basketball factories:

If you are a Crimson fan, gotta love the quote from Town's mother:
"I think this program is going to shock people," said Smitherman. "With the couple of other recruits that are waiting until after July to commit it will shock people."

Adding Bryce Aiken and one of Lindy Waters, Robert Baker or Grant Williams to close out this class would fulfill that prophecy.

Does anyone know much about Justin Bassey? Seems no services follow him but I recall seeing some amazing summer stats and at least one 3* ranking.

SB Nation reports on a fall Delaware event:

Seth Towns (6'7 SF / Columbus Northland / 2016): When you are an elite talent like Towns, who has been in the limelight since the first day of high school, and committed to one of the best programs in the country, it can be easy to become comfortable and content with your situation. Or you can be like Seth Towns. Continuing to work tirelessly to improve and come into his own, Towns has been lights out this fall, playing on a completely different level than anyone else that has been at Coach Vic's for the last eight weeks. As his ball-handling has improved more than anything, Towns can get anywhere he wants off the dribble, which has led to an increase in his already limitless scoring ability. Committed to Harvard, many inside the program feel he could be the best player there right now, which speaks volumes to him as a prospect. Always playing with a smile and with great energy, I have been very fortunate to be able to cover Towns over the years.
