Chaminade prep in St. Louis.
We have previously discussed the variable height and weight listings. He is up to 6'10" and up to 230 lb.
3-star.
Welcome Will!

Now, Will has to let his buddy Jayson Tatum know so JT has time to reconsider his silly decision to go to some school in North Carolina ....

Does anyone know his dimensions? I have seen 6'7" 185 lbs. up to 6'10" 230 lbs. and several points in between!

Judging by pictures (recent) he is taller than Jayson Tatum, so I think 6'10" is correct. His not as thin as Brennan, so 220-230 could be correct.

A really good rating of a basketball recruit would include an X-ray of his legs to see if his epiphyseal plates have closed

Glad to see my calmness about the sparse recruiting news appears to have been justified. Big guys are harder to project to college performance and/or slower to develop so I wouldn't necessarily expect a freshman explosion. Sounds like a good get though.

Meanwhile Kodye Pugh (Baltimore Boys Latin initially, now at Blair Academy) has quietly disappeared from the rucruits list for us on Verbal Commits. He hasn't committed anywhere, but is now generally considered a 4 star recruit.

SRP on the money regarding projecting performance by big players. Case in point: Evan Maxwell is a 6'10" center for Liberty. He played at the HS in my home town on some good teams. As a HS player he was awkward, somewhat slow and generally unable to take advantage of his size. We played Liberty in his freshman year but he showed little. New coaching regime takes over and puts a very young team on the floor. Maxwell almost beats us at Jadwin (22 points, 15 boards) outplaying Pete Miller in the process. He scored 15 against Notre Dame last week. Who knew? Now the best part: he has a brother who is similarly sized as a junior in HS now. The brother is better at 16 than Evan was at the same age.

The last time his name popped up, I thought we had lost Gladson to Brown or some other competitor, so I am pleasantly surprised that he has now committed. I also like what I've seen of Vittorio Reynoso-Avila. Both of them were 2-stars in the past, but I see that Verbal Commits now labels them both 3-stars. And I also like that they come from very good, winning hight school programs. So, next year we will have a fairly respectable stable of bigs: Brase, Miller (seniors), Brennan (junior), Bramlage (soph) and Gladson.

According to the Sun article about his transfer, he was "re-classifying" as a junior this season (2015-2016), so there seems to be a longer window on his status. But, given his stated scholarship offers to date, it seems doubtful PU would be in the mix.

We will lose Brase and Miller together, obviously, and will have only the other three with varying levels of experience. Per an article in the St. Louis paper, Gladson sees himself as a stretch 4, which is great. But I think we could still use another traditional back to basket big, or (if we are going the direction of the NBA) at least another big forward.

I'm fine with a stretch 4 as long as he can play tough in the post defensively and maybe protect the rim. Heck, I can live with a stretch 5 if he can play inside D against big men (Bill Laimbeer has used up his eligibility, though).

What a comment!! I can't imagine it would occur any place other that on an Ivy League message board.

Gladson and Chaminade are playing on CBS Sports Network at 11pm (Friday Night). Gladson looks good.
