I know this is unlikely, but what happens if Penn and Columbia lose tomorrow while Brown and Dartmouth win.
Who gets the 4th seed?

I think Dartmouth comes out on top in the head to heads.

But if Penn and Columbia and Dartmouth lose and Brown wins than I think Columbia comes out on top with their win over Harvard.

The most likely scenario is that Yale beats Columbia, Princeton beats Dartmouth, and Brown beats Cornell, in which event Columbia, despite a 5-9 record and losing 7 of its last 8 games, falls backward into the tournament

Meanwhile, the only game getting love on the ESPN site tonight is. . .the one that would have gotten even more love under the old format.

But Dartmouth would have a win over Princeton. Wouldn't that trump Columbia's win over Harvard?

Here's my stab at all the possible scenarios. Let me know if anything looks off:

Your scenarios are clear and correct (I think) thanks for getting them out so fast. I believe Dartmouth beating Princeton while both penn and Columbia losing is very unlikely so I would say chance of 4th is currently: D: 5%, Penn 45% and Columbia 50%. Just an intuitive guess, I'm sure Mr. James has a more precise calculation.

I think Colombia is at least 75% at this point since they get in even if they lose unless Penn beats Harvard or Cornell beats Brown if I have it right since I cant see Dartmouth beating PU.

Maybe Harvard will be flat since they have nothing to play for at this point on the back end of the roadie.

The Cornell Brown result only matters if both Columbia and Penn win. If Penn wins they are likely in as Columbia has to win too and hope Brown wins.

If Penn loses then its either Columbia or Dartmouth for 4th.

Yale should play Harvard, Princeton should get a bye.

This.

If Dartmouth wins, and Penn and Columbia lose, then Dartmouth goes.
