With the ongoing renovation of the newly named Finneran Pavilion (one hopes that this donor can avoid committing homicide ), the Villanova men will play exactly one game on campus this season. Guess who the opponent is? I'm not sure if this is a diss (in that they think that no one from Penn will show up) or respect (in that they think that playing us in the Insert Bank Here Center will leave too many empty seats for us.) Then again, maybe they remember what happened the last time we played them in South Philly. In either case, I would give a couple of body parts to somehow win that one.

I certainly remember games in the Cat House. Tough place to play. But anything is better than the Death Pavillion. I hope that they are lifting the roof in the renovation.

I wish someone could explain to me why they could not have played this one at the Palestra. This game could fill the Cat House at least 2-3 times over so they are leaving money on the table. I seriously doubt they are worried about losing the game due to home court advantage. Nova fans have never had much difficulty finding 33rd street.

I don't think there isn't a college basketball coach in existence that would willingly play their home game on someone else's floor if they could avoid it.

LaSalle fits that bill too so I guess Jay Wright is just old school and would rather have no one watch than a sell out the Palestra.

Typically Villanova. Loved it when the Ugonna team crushed them at the Center, as the Nova fans all left early & pissy; after they scattered the Penn fans over three widely separate locations, so we wouldn't make more noise than they did.

Hard to decide which brings more joy to me - beating Nova or Princeton (ie the various pussies on our schedule) though, of course, beating either is wonderful. Because they are bigger blowhards, especially when it comes to BBall, for the time being, guess I'd prefer a win over Nova.

By the way, P38, to the best of my knowledge, Penn never played Nova in the "Cat House" (now called the Jake Nevin Gym) so I'm not sure how you recall games there (unless you were referring to games against other opponents).

I saw the Mighty Macs play there long ago when Immaculata was winning national championships.
