The preseason poll was just released. Bison are ranked #6, with Gonzaga, St. Mary's, and Vermont leading the pack. Monmouth was high among the others receiving votes, while Ball State and Siena also are listed. Note that this poll rightfully does not count the A-10 teams as mid-majors, so VCU, Richmond, LaSalle, and St. Joes were not eligible.

That Vermont game might be the best game played at Sojka in a few years.

Might be the best men's game in a while.
The women's championship game in March was pretty damn good.

Somewhat surprising to see Colgate received three votes while Boston University received none.

Somewhat surprised to see Gonzaga still considered a mid-major.

No doubt but the rest of their conference is genuine mid-major. St. Mary's has done a nice job of sustaining a top 25 program though too. They've also started to play to seed in the Dance as well.

I agree. That being said, according to Kenpom.com, BYU is #72, San Francisco is #116, and Santa Clara is #126. Those are very solid teams. So, the top 5 in the WCC have an average ranking of #72.8. After that, there is a BIG drop off in the WCC.
