23-14 after 1. Temple very quick, as always (and getting away with blatant travels), but our defense forcing them into a lot of low-percentage shots. Still making 3's, too.

42-34 at half. Temple very good at creating shots with quickness; not so good at making them. So far they haven't shown that they can string together enough offense to come back here. Refs totally in Owls' pocket, although fortunately no one person has picked up more than 2. Let's get 'em in the second half.

In fairness to Temple, Aliya Butts, their best player, has not gotten in and appears to be hurt.

62-47 after 3. Penn's turned up the defense to 11, and Temple is really having trouble moving the ball and getting any sort of decent shot; they end up getting down to 3 on the shot clock and putting their heads down and charging the lane. Give them credit for athleticism that it works at all, but not enough to get them back in the game.

In fairness to Temple, our women's basketball coach is another basketball coach who has massively underachieved.
Oh, and Butts tore her ACL before the season started.

Congrats to the women's team on a Big 5 co-championship, the second in program history and the first since 2014-2015.
They have now won 8 of their last 9 (the one lost, unfortunately was a home defeat to Princeton) and are playing much better than they did at the beginning of the season. With Brown's loss of Taylor Will, it would seem that the Tigers and Quakers are at the top of the conference.
FWIW, Penn beat Temple on the road by 15. Harvard, which finds itself at 1-1 in the conference battling with Brown, Yale and Dartmouth for the the last spots in the upper division, played at Temple on 12/2/17 and lost by 22.
