Will Ferrell is filming a movie called " The House," in which a dad convinces his friends to start an illegal casino in his basement after he and his wife spend their daughter's college fund.
It appears the fictional daughter will be going to Bucknell. Unfortunately, it will be in some measure a fictional Bucknell, too, as this tweeted photo indicates they're filming a Bucknell scene on the campus of California State University Long Beach.

Let's hope they mix in some shots of the real campus while they're at it, or else the greater Bucknell awareness will be accompanied by a depiction of the university that doesn't do justice to the school's appearance.
Given the movie's premise, we can no doubt credit this pending movie fame to our perennial presence on the list of the country's most expensive colleges.
Two more thoughts about the photo:
--It should say freshmen...plural.
--Certain academics will be aghast that the movie version of Bucknell uses the term "freshman" instead of "first-year"

This is awesome. Love the twitter picture. The banner certainly looks legit. Follows the typical font scheme.

The trailer for this movie is out and, for some reason, the producers changed the daughter's college from Bucknell to "Buckley University," while keeping the orange and blue and a Bucknell look and Bison mascot (note the banner in the backyard party). Might our school have protested?

Name in the actual movie is going to be Bucknell, not Buckley. Release date scheduled for June 30th.

The movie is out and getting uniformly terrible reviews across the board. Guess I'll wait until it's on Netflix or cable.

From a Kansas basketball blog:
"Be forewarned, Bucknell University is featured prominently in The House. It was like a punch in the gut."

Warning-The House is being played by HBO in Texas and throughout much of the South. Wanted to see what about Bucknell made it to the screen, which is not much-a few orange flags and blue shirts. Looked filmed at a CA Community College. Terrible movie-only awards it will win are for worst movie of year or decade.
