Ivy Conference Rank: NCAA 10 - RealtimeRPI 9 - Sagarin 10. Does a top 10 conference normally receive a second bid?
1 team top 50 (almost 2)
3 teams top 100 (almost 4)
5 teams top 150 (almost 6)
6 teams top 200
8 teams top 275
Five teams in play:
Princeton with a NCAA RPI of 29, RealtimeRPI RPI of 21 and Sagarin RPI of 50 is likely a NCAA bubble team if they do not win the Ivy Tournament - probably need to win round 1 over Yale. As the #1 seed, they are the automatic NIT selection.
The women’s NIT is 64 teams - not the 32 of the men.
#2 Penn with NCAA RPI of 60, RealtimeRPI RPI of 61 and Sagarin RPI of 67 is likely a solid NIT selection regardless of the Ivy Tournament results.
#3 Harvard, despite being 3rd had better RPI than Penn with NCAA RPI of 51, RealtimeRPI RPI of 53 and Sagarin RPI of 112 is likely a solid NIT selection regardless of the Ivy Tournament results.
Can either Penn or Harvard move to a NCAA bubble team with a 1st round win ... likely unlikely ... probably need an RPI in the 30s - 40s at worst.
#4 Yale with NCAA RPI of 125, RealtimeRPI RPI of 127 and Sagarin RPI of 135 is likely an CBI team - perhaps a NIT bubble team with an opening round win of Princeton ... likely a 10+ point bump.
5th place Dartmouth (15-11) with NCAA RPI of 99, RealtimeRPI RPI of 101 and Sagarin RPI of 154 is likely an NIT bubble team / first 8 out. But perhaps in the WBI?
6th place Brown in the 160s is on the outside looking in, but at 14-12 & 3-11 in conference they are still in the top half of the NCAAs - and it says a lot about the quality of the women’s game in the Ivies.
Columbia in the 220s at 8-20 & 2-10 is nearly top 200 and even last place Cornell is 270s.
