"Join head coach Nathan Davis, his staff, and the four senior members of the Bison squad for a preview of the upcoming season tomorrow evening (THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 1) at the annual Backcourt Club Tip-Off Reception.
The event will be held at Brendan's Town Tavern on Market Street at 7:00 p.m. and is $10 per person - payable in CASH at the door. The entry fee includes an all-you can eat appetizer buffet and drinks (tap beer, soda, water). Every guest will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win Bison Basketball gear or the grand prize, a pair of season tickets.
Guests are encouraged to arrive early as tables fill quickly. We hope you can join us tomorrow evening."

A couple of takes from tonight. John Meeks is in a boot with an ankle sprain. Coach Davis talked about the team breaking down by each class saying the freshman are playing very well with high praise to Ellis and Funk and stated that Spears is a freak athlete who makes some crazy plays on both ends of the floor. He also talked about Newman improving a lot and Robertson making huge strides. He talked about team again being very deep. We should all be excited to see this group of talented kids!

Sorry to hear that. He was bothered by a high ankle sprain just before the team left for Europe in early August. Had reportedly been playing very well and should be a rotation regular when healthy. He figured to be the backup PF to Bruce Moore. Now when Moore goes out, they will get a lot smaller. Probably Jones or Robertson.

thanks for providing a report for those of us who could not be there. i think Meeks is going to be a major factor in how we do this year so hope he is back soon.
