Son of former Jets Pro Bowler Mo Lewis commits to Harvard today. Currently ESPN's No. 44 recruit in the 2016 class, he kicks off what the Crimson needs to be a huge 2016 cohort.
Lewis had offers from a bevy of high-major programs, but Notre Dame was probably the one coming at him the hardest.
Between the solid finish to the 2015 campaign and the great start to the 2016 one, it appears that Amaker's new staff is getting settled in and getting results.

That's great news. Looks like he's in the same league as Zena and Egi in terms of how they were rated coming out of high school (among the highest ever for Harvard recruits).
Of course, they all still need to prove themselves on the college stage, though, hopefully, Zena and Egi will be tearing it up by the time he arrives. I'd particularly like to see how Zena can develop playing a majority of minutes on a regular basis.

So he'll be a 4.5ppg scorer as well.

Not that it means anything, but I don't think Zena or Egi were ranked this high by ESPN. #44 in Class of 2016 and #12 PF.
Patriots fans have his dad to thank for the emergence of Tom Brady in 2001.

From what I've read, he's a little further along on the offensive end than either of those guys.
I still expect big things from Zena very soon.

Do you think Zena is being used properly?

Good one, though his development (putting it all together) has been slower than I would have hoped, I think Zena could still be a big-time scorer.
Though I didn't see tonight's game, I see that Zena finally got more than 20 minutes playing time tonight (first time all year) and put in 13 points in 24 minutes. By contrast, Kenyatta, whom he replaced, has been under 0.5 points/minute every single game this season; and Steve has only reached that level once this year. I'll keep saying I want to see Zena enter/stay in the starting lineup because I think he has a lot of upside and even now brings more skills to the table.
Anyway, if we keep landing highly ranked big men, odds increase that at least one of them will live up to expectations.

Maybe Chris Lewis will bring along some high-profile friends:
"In the interview with futue150.com, Lewis acknowledged that he committed to the Crimson with other potential teammates in mind.
'Harvard is looking at a couple of other prospects that I hope will be able to commit to Harvard along with me,' Lewis said."

Apparently, small-forward Seth Towns (#56 ESPN) is one of those other prospects:

I think Harvard will land another 2016 player that is a Top 100 caliber guy. Beyond that, the Crimson will have its name in a lot of chases, but it'll probably take some time to see which final lists Harvard winds up making.
There's a chance that 2016 can be huge, given the stability of the staff now and the ability to develop the relationships with the academically qualified prospective student athletes in that class. That being said, there are a lot of variables in recruiting, and even more in Ivy recruiting, that makes it hard to predict what will happen with much accuracy this far in advance...

You're relatively new to these boards, Cantab Hoops, so welcome to Penn Pal snarkiness. It's become rarer over the past couple of years, but rears its head periodically.

Thanks for sharing. it seems like Mike could use some help with his CBB model, does Chris join the team?
That led him to Harvard, where he majors in computer science and statistics.
