If you believe coach talk, Mitch stated/implied that both games this weekend will be extremely challenging with little difference as to the degree of difficulty either night. He did talk about Morgan in the same breadth as Oni. The one obvious plus is that the games are at home.

He described the league as a whole as having no below average opponent(s) and implied that every team is either good or very good although he did not cite any team as being great. Johns got some recognition and Henderson hopes that he develops into an elite defender like Stephens. He was complimentary as to Llewellyn and Arirguzoh's play Saturday night and he was dissapointed as to the Tiger's play during the later part of the Harvard game -- described it as a missed opportunity.

To have a realistic chance to win or tie for 1st place, Tigers need to win both games at home with both Harvard and Yale losing one game this weekend.

Surprised that any IL games open with spreads of more than 3 points right now.

Pennsylvania is -9 and Yale is -10 1/2 both there for the plucking if you so desire.

Myself, I like the Cantabs -2.

No Canady in the lineup or the sideline. Anyone know what’s up?

Wonder if it is related to his Municipal Court appearance on Monday? https://roundballdaily.com/2019/02/13/devin-cann ad...

Seems like a likely explanation.

Both teams seem flat and Jadwin is dead. Huge mistake by JL to end the half. Dribbled into trouble, ball stolen and dunked by Cornell as time expires. Could have been up 10 or 11 and no worse than 8 but lead down to 6. Ugghhh!

And Morales didn’t didn’t disappoint with another outrageous drive into traffic and ugly circus shot that missed everything. Not sure what goes through his mind when he does that. He also got his hands on a couple balls on defense.

But story of most of the half though was Myles completely shutting Morgan down until the last few minutes.

Not watching listening, just following espn scoreboard so maybe this perception is off, but it sure seems like this team just switches itself off when they get in a position to dominate - big lead, then turnovers, missed shots, fouls. I really do not understand.

You are absolutely spot on.

They can't seem able to play a clean 40 minutes of basketball.

Mitch is just standing on the sidelines with arms crossed during all of this. 18 point lead down to 2 and no emotion.

Stephens playing good D, but really a liability on offense; holding the ball, driving into coverage.

I suppose it could be worse, like Columbia inexorably giving away game after game - or PU last year - and we did hold on against what seemed to be a determined if inconsistent Cornell team, but it isn't confidence building to see the same pattern repeat itself.

(edit - maybe I spoke too soon about Columbia)

They are grinding out these close games for the most part - snd there will be more of them for sure. Part of the ugly stretch had Stephens, Llewellyn and Aririguzoh off the court at the same time. We gotta get the Cannady situation straightened out.

That was another ugly one but a win is a win. Time after time we came down the court only to end the possession with a flailing one-on-one turnover or awful shot. And Mitch standing and watching with arms crossed. He finally started yelling at the guys with three or four minutes left after we coughed up all but 2 points of the 18 point lead. We won that game with defense and better than our recent 3-pt shooting.

Almost the third straight game against Cornell blowing a double-digit lead. A lot of Cornell’s second-half rum came with the bench on the floor. Jaelin looked good although 6-18 stat line isn’t great.

This is such a weird team.

Stephens played Great defense. Morgan only scored 6 points off Myles one on one and Stephens did a crazy good job denying Morgan the ball. Tiger's team rebounding was simply outstanding and DesRosiers was very strong on the boards. Schweiger, Llewellyn and Wright carried the day offensively although it is tough to watch at times as they missed many open 3 pointers. Llewellyn demonstrated some Bryce Aiken moves tonight -- his game is being elevated as the season progresses.

Morales and Much continue to dissapoint. Richmond had a weak offensive game as Julien controlled Arirguzoh. Very sloppy play for several minutes in the second half.

Hopefully tomorrow, Harvard beats Yale to give the Tigers at least the opportunity to stay in the mix for first place although Columbia will be a challenging game. Brown is coming on strong so the Tigers need to keep on winning. Cornell vs. Penn - who knows after all it is the IL this year.

Good and very important win for the Tigers!
