Sarju Patel, a 6'3" SG from VMI, will be transferring to Cornell from VMI.

Patel completed his sophomore year on Dan Earl's team and will have to sit out a year before playing his senior year for Brian Earl.

Patel started 12 of his 29 games last year. He averaged 10.2 ppg and shot 42% from the field, 35% from three and 68% from the FT line.

Patel really seemed to come on at the end of last season, as he started 11 of the Keydets' last 12. Seems to value the ball, which Earl will like.
Welcome aboard Sarju!

So, am I to understand that this kid is transferring to a team coached by the brother of his coach at VMI? I guess Thanksgiving is going to be awkward this year in the Earl family.

Maybe, or this could be helping younger brother out. According to newspaper article RBG links, four Keydets have decided to transfer since the end of last season. At least one is "staying in the family."

It's been a bad year for transfers in the Big South and Southern Conference. Link
