Surprised to see George Mason on TV and even more surprised to see them win 18th of season. Looked poised and well coached. Paulson appears to have turned team around.

Not surprised, but, very glad to see.
I think the situation he inherited at GM was more difficult than what he took on here.

The GMU situation was more difficult because a number of the GMU players transferred out after he was hired as a coach, and most of their incoming recruits decommitted. I think he had to bring in six new players to fill out the roster. In contrast, Bucknell players select the University at least as much as the coaching staff.

It's a tough job at Mason. I think it's great he's having success. He was successful here for sure.

Interestingly our head basketball coach was scouting Henry Co last week and he said he got to sit next to Dave Paulson and pick his brain a little bit. In addition to being a good coach he branded him a "good guy" as well.

Next year will be a telling year for GMU. They lose their best player, and one of their other two best players. And they will have no seniors on the roster. They have signed two players, one of whom looks pretty good. But I would not be surprised to see others transfer or get pushed out. In total, the two players they lose are their top two rebounders, and two of their top three scorers.

Paulsen is a good coach. He has built quality programs at every school that he has coached. It is good to see him doing well this season.

I enjoy watching Mason play and am glad for their success but not surprised at all, they are just getting started there. Dave looks to have put on a few pounds though, He reminds me of Chris Farley now I hope he can get back down to how he was here at Bucknell. I want to see him coaching for a long time.

Nice. Also suitable for a post-coaching career in professional wrestling!
