Does anyone have information on where the different schools' ticket allotments are located in the Palestra? I'm going to buy tix online but I don't want my orange to clash with some drunk Quaker fan next to me.

Drunk Quaker fan?? You realize you're talking about nothing but alums at this event?

Moreover, you have to be drunk to wear those striped jackets.

I might have to wear plaid, P38. Don't tempt me.

But in all seriousness, any knowledge or guesses how they do the seating?

The P-H playoff at Yale in '11 was awesome because they had the gym divided right down the middle with Tigers on one end of the court and Crimson on the other end.

TigerFan:

You have nothing to fear. You'll get the same kind of choice seats at the Palestra that Quaker fans get when attempting to buy seats at the Hangar.

Call Princeton's ticket office. They had an allotment. Even if they're sold out, they can let you know the sections.

There are 2 center sections on each side--103/203 and 104/204 on the North Side and 114/214 and 115/215 on the South Side. Each school gets one of those sections. The price is $175 for seatbacks (103,104,114,115) where I usually sit during the year) including food and $75 for scoop seats higher up.

Cheap bastards like moi buy the $40 seats behind the basket---off to the side and relatively low down. Every seat in the Palestra is a good one except (IMO) right behind the basket where the basket gets in the way of certain angles. So I'm happy to save the $35 per ticket to use for alcohol, so I'm drunk enough to give the Princeton fans full blast abuse without any inhibitions.

Maybe you and TigerFan will be seatmates!

Other than when I was a student and had courtside seats, the section behind the basket is my favorite location. Watched many a Big 5 doubleheader from there.

I went for a couple of the 2-day tickets in the end zone for $60 a piece. I'll be looking over my orange and black wardrobe tonight.

Shall I secretly stick a "Wicked Hamen" sticker on his back during the game?

Brings up an interesting question. How many Penn/Princeton fans will go Sunday after their team loses?

Actually, they'll almost certainly get better, since the worst seats in the Palestra are better than at least 45% of the seats in Jadwin.

Interesting to see how they'll actually be divvied up, since there really are only five schools participating in this thing.

The seats in the very bottom corners of the lower end zones are also questionable, since it's somewhat difficult to see the entire court from them under any circumstances, and impossible if people are standing up. Other than that, though, it's all good.

My recommendation, if you want cheap seats in the ends, is to buy in 208, 210, or 219 (too late now for 221), i.e., the sections next to the ones right behind the baskets. That way, you still have a good angle to the court, but the basket isn't in your way as much.

Yup--I'll be in 219. Row 8, if the Princeton guys need some comfort after the upset.
