After slow start the women have been quietly clawing their way back into Ivy contention. Big assist from Yale yesterday who gave the Quakers first defeat in league play. They (Quakers) still have one game lead. But, Tigers could still catch them. Regular season will conclude at the Palestra where, conceivably, the Tourney could actually serve the role of playoff for title.
GO TIGERS!

Also, coupled with Harvard's loss to Cornell this weekend, the Tigers are now in sole possession of second. Pretty remarkable considering what they lost and the injuries they've had to endure this year.

Tiger's women regrouped and improved but Penn women deserve the automatic bid based on their regular season play.

Nice. With Bella Alarie, she is another solid rebuilding block for Courtney Banghart. Pendulum swinging back to Nassau?

Baltimore/Washington corridor is proving a fertile recruiting ground ...first Qalea Ismail (who hopefully is 100pct next year), Bella Alarie, and now Abby Meyers (a top 60 ESPN national recruit).
Stipanovich graduates this year and Nwokedi has a year left. Bright future ahead!

I have seen Abby play here a few times. She is an unusual talent, the kind you don't see that often in the Ivy League. As long as she understands that she needs to adapt her game at the college level, that she won't be able to totally dominate games as she has in high school, she will be fine. She and Bella will be playing together for the next three years, and have a shot at putting the Tigers back on top.

I read a quote from Banghart that said something along the line of "The kid can really score, but cares only about winning". My guess is she'll fit in just fine.

Hearing Abby and Bella makes me think of Mel Brooks and Marty Feldman.

Penn has a 6'4 center coming in next year whom at least one recruiting board has as the highest rated incoming player. And I understand that Mike has a point guard coming as well whom they like a lot, so I don't see the Quakers fading at all even w/o Stipanovich & Chambers.

Are you saying they only got Abby Something because they couldn't recruit Hans Delbruck?

Princeton has more than just Abby Meyers coming in next year. Plus three of their potentially better players missed virtually the entire year due to injury. Looks like Penn/Princeton women may become what the men used to be.

It already is. A P has been #1 in the standings for the past 8 years.

I know about Ismail; who were the other two?
