Great news. Hoped he would commit after his visit.
Meeks is a 6-6 SF from Burlington NC. Had offers from Bona, Air Force, Delaware, American, Army, Columbia, Dartmouth, Brown, UNC Greensboro, and Charleston Southern.

I like the jump shot. And he runs the floor well. Important traits in the new Breakin' Bison offense.

Seems to have a good handle too. Looks like the kind of player who will not make an immediate impact as a freshmen though which is fine. His body looks like he could add 20 pounds of muscle.

Article on his commitment. Coaches say he'll play the 2/3 but I don't really see him as a 2. If he can play SG when needed that is great. Would think he'd need to work on his quickness if they plan on using him there

That's on a relative scale. On a scale of 1-10, Bucknell attendance rates a 10 and the next best in the PL maybe a 4 or 5.
Bison have now led the PL in attendance by a wide margin for 12 consecutive seasons. Only on a handful of occasions has any program come within 800 spectators per game. Lehigh has never drawn more than about 50% of Bucknell's attendance - even in the CJ McCollum years.

Meeks missed his team's first 13 games with a foot injury, but has done really well in his first two games in a tournament in Charleston:
1. " John Meeks scored 15 points to go with six rebounds in his first game of the season as The Burlington School defeated Northwood Academy of South Carolina 53-38 in the Rotary Roundball Classic. . . Meeks had been out with a foot injury."
http://www.thetimesnews.com/sports/20161227/meeks -...
2. " At North Charleston, S.C., John Meeks scored a game-high 25 points, shooting 11-for-12 from the field, and grabbed six rebounds to help The Burlington School against Berkmar (Ga.) in the semifinals of the Rotary Roundball Classic."
http://www.thetimesnews.com/sports/20161229/prep- b...
Burlington is now 15-0

in first game since their holiday tourney Meeks scored 21 in one of those horrible games where the opposition is totally overmatched. score was 52-4 at the half, final 81-19. it was a conference game, so the matchup could not be avoided.

Unfortunately the Burlington School has a lot of games like this. This year they have won four games by over 50 points and another six by over 25 points. The capper was a league game that they won 93-5. For what it's worth, they are ranked number seven in North Carolina by Maxpreps.

1. Meeks ranked the 14th best senior in NC by Rivals (NCPreps): https://ncpreps.rivals.com/news/ncpreps-com-clas s-...
2. Meeks had 32 points and 6 rebounds in a 63-48 win that wrapped up an undefeated regular season. Unfortunately they weren't tested much during the year. http://www.starnewsonline.com/sports/20170207/prep...
3. Meeks had 18 to lead his team to a win in its conference tournament. http://www.thetimesnews.com/sports/20170211/prep- b...

Being the 18th ranked senior in a medium sized state doesn't inspire me.

Actually 14th, but either way, it's quite subjective. Number 13 on the list is going to Princeton and had three A10 offers among his 15+ offers. And #21 is going to A10 Davidson.
I prefer to look at offers. Meeks, although he committed very early, had offers fro Bona, Air Force, Delaware, UNC-Greensboro, Charleston Southern, American, Army, Columbia, Brown, etc. His offer list is very similar to that of Zach Thomas but a little better. Not saying he is going to be another Zach Thomas but that might be his ceiling with his floor being a solid sixth man.

Meeks had 19 in a win in the state private A (smallest) school semis today. opposing team included Michael Hueitt (Old Dominion, and a Ben Robertson teammate last year) and Immanuel Bates a 6-10 junior with over a dozen offers already including a couple ACC teams, so they were facing some togh competition for a change. championship is tomorrow
