As promised, I finally bring you my best guess as to how good each Ivy team’s women’s class will be this year. As noted earlier, the information from the recruiting sites is often fragmentary and hard to reconcile, so in addition to talking about that, I’m going to provide some highlights of each player’s high school career. The five sites I’m using are ESPNW, Prospects Nation, Blue Star, College Sports Madness (which only ranks the top 165 prospects), and ASGR Basketball. The final list of recruits comes from each team’s website. Here they are:

Brown:
Jenna Benzinger: 6-5 C, Mt. Greylock Regional, Williamstown MA. All-Western MA final two years. ASGR 631 overall.
Morgan Clausen: 6-0 G, Huntley, Algonquin IL. All-Chicago area 2nd team, All State Honorable Mention. ASGR 804 overall.
McKenna Dale: 6-0 G, Edwin O. Smith, Storrs CT. All-State final 2 years, won three different CT POY awards senior year, scored 1,792 points. ASGR 855 overall.
Dominque Leonidas: 5-5 G, Parkview, Stone Mountain GA, prep year at Loomis Chaffee CT. 1st team All-State in GA, NEPSAC All-Star in prep year. ASGR 852 overall.
Savannah Lewis: 6-0 G/F, Oaks Christian/Sierra Canyon, Westlake Village, CA. No major accomplishments.

Columbia:
Andrea McCormick: 5-8 G, Villa Maria Acad., Erie PA. Two-time state runners-up. ESPN 3-star, 74 at PG.
Riley Casey: 5-8 G, Franklin Road Acad, Brentwood, TN. All State final 3 years, state runners-up as soph.
Madison Pack: 6-3 F, Sarasota, FL. Two-time All-Tampa area, state runners-up as frosh. ESPN 3-star, 86 at F; Blue Star 285 overall; Prospects Nation 142 overall, 26 at P; College Sports Madness 157 overall; ASGR 310 overall.
Imani Whittington: 5-11 G/F, Barking Abbey, London, UK. Four-time national champions, made three UK teams for international play.

Cornell:
Ariana Abdulmassih: 6-2 G/F, Covent of the Sacred Heart/St. Ignatius College Prep, San Francisco, CA. All--Bay Area HM first two years. ESPN 3-star, 65 at F; ASGR 477 overall.
Elodie Furey: 6-2 F, Episcopal Academy, Newtown Square, PA. MVP of Inter-Ac final year. ASGR 747 overall.
Halley Miklos: 6-1 F, Liberty Common, Fort Collins, CO. 3A POY final year. ASGR 614 overall.
Kate Sramac: 5-8 G, Mount Lebanon, PA. Sweet sixteen of state championships final year.

ESPN 3-star, 54 at F; Blue Star 278 overall; Prospects Nation 101 overall, 18 at F; College Sports Madness 114 overall; ASGR 193 overall.
Matilda Salen: 5-9 G, Alvik Basket, Bromma, Sweden. Made three international teams for Sweden, including runners up at 2014 U-16 Euro champs and winners of 2016 U18 Euro champs.
Maddie Stuhlreyer 6-5 F, Ursuline Acad, Cincinnati, OH. 2nd team all-state junior year. ESPN 3-Star, 55 at P (whatever that is); ASGR 293 overall.

Katie Kinum: 5-9 G, New Providence, NJ. Won Group 1 state championship (year unclear); third-team all-state (year unclear); 1,861 points. ASGR 343 overall.
Eleah Parker: 6-4 C, Northside Christian Acad, Charlotte, NC. Three-time all-state. ESPN 3-star, 13 at P; Blue Star 179 overall; Prospects Nation 61 overall, 9 at P; College Sports Madness 76 overall; ASGR 71 overall.

Sydney Boyer: 6-1 F, Oaks Christian, Moorpark, CA. Final four at state tournament three of four years; All-state in her Division senior year. ESPN 3-star, 65 at F; Blue Star 214 overall; ASGR 349 overall.
McKenna Haire: 5-10 G, Myers Park, Charlotte, NC. Two-time 4A state champs. ESPN 3-star, 30 at G; Blue Star 194 overall; Prospects Nation 121 overall, 32 at G; College Sports Madness 143 overall; ASGR 171 overall.
Abby Meyers: 6-0 G, Walt Whitman, Potomac, MD. State champions junior year, final four soph and senior years; first team all-state junior and senior years; over 1,700 points. ESPN 4-star, 54 overall, 18 at G; Blue Star 123 overall; Prospects Nation 92 overall, 21 at G; College Sports Madness 58 overall; ASGR 122 overall.
Carlie Littlefield: 5-9 G, Waukee, IA. First team all-state junior and senior years; picked for four different all-state teams as senior; made state quarterfinals frosh, junior and senior years; ASGR 347 overall.

Yale:
Alessandra Aguirre: 5-8 G, The Bishop’s School, La Jolla, CA. First team all-state (year unclear), finished 2nd all-time in CA and 7th in US in three-pointers made. Blue Start 400 overall (not quite sure what this means, there are a lot of people ranked 400).
Tori Andrew: 5-10 G, Orono, Wayzata, MN. State champions (year unclear); three-time all-state. Blue Start 400 overall.
Ellen Andrews: 5-10 F, Greenhill School, Dallas, TX. State private school POY as senior. ASGR 372 overall.
Alex Cade: 6-1 F, Laurel School, Shaker Heights, OH. All-state final 2 years.

My rankings are as follows:
1. Princeton: Says something when the worst recruit is a two-time all-stater in Iowa, a noted hotbed of girls’ hoops. Meyers so far seems to be the star of the class, and Haire sounds like the replacement for Dietrick they’ve been searching for the past couple of years.
2. Harvard and Penn: Tough call here. On the one hand, Delaney-Smith brought in a very deep class, with Levy being one of the few players named by all five sites here, and with Tworek and Bush being named at multiple sites as well. Furthermore, it strengthens their position at forward, where they were definitely lacking last year. On the other hand, McLaughlin got Parker, the only other person who could give Meyers a run for her money and a much-needed replacement for Stipanovich, as well as Jones and Kinum, who are both offense-minded guards, something Penn needs to get them over the top in future. I’m going to make this one a push for now.
4. Columbia: Hiring Megan Griffith away from the Tigers seems to be providing dividends already, as Pack is another one of the few players to make all five lists, and should fill in nicely when Zimmerman graduates; McCormick has a chance to be a sleeper if she can stay healthy (already had three knee injuries.)
5. Yale: With Aguirre on board, you know the threes will be raining, and there’s potential for a surprise there; the Andrew(s) “sisters” also look like solid players.
6. Dartmouth: This one is. . .interesting. Louie only got mentioned by one site, but that was ESPN, and both players succeeded in competitive environments. They may have stolen a couple here. On the other hand, even in a best-case scenario, a two-person class is pretty sad for a team not exactly loaded with talent; this could be a major nail in Koclanes’s coffin.
7. Cornell: Abdulmassih is a decent pickup, but other than that, it’s a whole lot of meh.
8. Brown: Well, they got the tallest player this year (Benzinger, which given that she didn’t even make all-state, has got “Project” written all over her) and the shortest (Leonidas, who’s also the only one who needed a prep year); they also had the only player for whom I couldn’t find anything worth mentioning. I have some hope for Dale just because she’s obviously a blue-chip scorer, but other than that, not so good for the Bears.

Thanks for the thorough review of the women newcomers. I'm looking forward to an exciting race this year with another 2nd Ivy bid in the NCAAs to ... Penn or Harvard

Well, DP, Leonidas played major minutes in the opener, quickest person on the floor. Breaking in on a team that didn't lose anyone is a good start. Benzinger also played. She may be a project, but it may on be a long term one.

Tiger Women opened by blowing away George Washington (the university, not the old guy), a team that beat them a year ago. New freshman guard moved the team well. The Tigers are back!

Carlie Littlefield is WAY better than these rankings. If she's the worst of the four recruits, the rest of the league is in trouble.

Good to have someone who can be relied upon for info and insights about the lesser-covered women.
