Jon Rothstein on Twitter:
"Fascinating contrast of styles tonight at Bud Walton Arena between Arkansas and Bucknell. Bison have a HM 4-5. Can they handle the press?"

I'm guessing "HM" = high major?

I'm not too excited for this game because I just don't feel like the team is ready for it. I'm unsettled because Nate Jones started and that reveals that whatever is going on, discipline, "injuries" whatever reveals we are not starting the season ready and you don't beat a team like Arkansas playing like you hit a wall. Its catch up time for the next half dozen or so games. Bucknell is a great team but why hamper themselves internally? I remember the Buffalo Bills finally made the super bowl and their star running back Thurman Thomas didn't start or play the first few plays because he couldn't find his helmet on the sidelines. It feels like its the same thing here going on. I don't feel like they are 100 percent ready. Maybe tonight they prove me wrong and I hope they do. Somethings off.

Yep. That would be my guess, as well.

EDIT: Unless Zach and Nana are secretly Brits.

Hahahahaha! If Brown were two inches taller he’d be a HM too.

I'm all for challenging the team with its OOC schedule but there's a difference between a challenging schedule and an overwhelming one. We may win the PL this year but hopefully we won't wind up with a 16 seed or play-in game due to our record. We won't get much credit from a lot of losses in the OOC.

Can’t watch the game, just live stats. Seems like poor shooting, rebounding and turnovers so far in first half?

Down 22 at half. This team, at this point, is not the team we thought it was. Need to take care of the ball for one thing.

Hate to play Debbie Downer but this team can't play defense and is soft on offense. I'm sure we'll be fine against Lafayette or Colgate and we may win the PL but we're not competitive against Power Conference teams. Yes, we played a great game against West Virginia last year but this isn't the 2005-2006 team. Not even close.

The team looks tired and shooting 3's with tired legs does not mix well! I also don't think we match up well with athletic teams. The bison can't stop the penetration and can't get up high enough for a rebound or box out. I think this game might finish ugly.

I'm sure they will come home and go to class tomorrow and Tuesday. This isn't UNC.

I'm not ready to write this team off two games into the season. Let's reserve judgment about these two games until we see how good Monmouth and Arkansas are going to be. There are things to fix, particularly on defense. It's a long season and a long time until March.

My optimism is based on Bison under Davis starting slow each year, then picking up the pace once in league. Today we looked slow, weak, and poorly coached. Motion offense got pushed back to half court and Nana pushed 5-10 feet outside his zone. Still struggling with foul shots. What was with the white long tights most wore under shorts? Bad look.

i'm with jkrun on this, way to early to panic. lot's to work on, but plenty of time. ran into a very athletic team that played very well tonight. how were we all feeling after the Butler game last year?

I saw the 2nd half and this team bore no resemblance to the NCAA tourney team from last year. It was ugly and not competitive. I think we set the bar a little high folks.

And ironically, for the first 17:30 of that half - before they subbed out Thomas, Foulland, and Brown - the Bison actually outscored Arkansas 37-36.
