I missed the 2017 CU at Princeton game, but had seen the 2016 and many other previous games and now two weeks ago saw the 2018 game. My question is: has the lighting changed at Jadwin since the 2016 season? The lighting now seems much brighter both in the upper reaches of the larger stands and in the areas behind the two baskets.

The lighting has changed and I agree with your assessment, it's much brighter than it used to be. I think this is the 2nd season since the change. If not, it's the 3rd season.

The Palestra also seems much brighter after the new floor that was installed.

They put in an entirely new bank of lights on the North Side and also increased the brightness of the lights

New Jadwin lights are LED. I hated the look at first but it didn't take long to get used to it.

It will be interesting to see whether the spread between an Ivy visitor's Jadwin and home shooting percentages will increase over what such had been in the past. I recall that Mike James or someone else had informed that there had been a bigger spread between home and away shooting percentages when it comes to Jadwin than at any other Ivy venue. The new lights behind Jadwin's baskets seemed, at least to me, to increase the sense that one was shooting into infinity rather than some actual background.

Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another roller in the night.

If you mean the Palestra, yes.

I was discussing this recently with one of the best Ivy shooters in recent memory and he agreed that it a huge edge for P at home.

If you mean Jadwin, I've been told the same thing by a great Ivy shooter. He took me out on the court a couple of years ago and showed me how the lighting at Jadwin impacts how you see the rim. Apparently a big shooting issue.

I wonder if this is a bit less of an issue for Penn this year. Penn's not that fabulous at shooting the 3, and has a pretty solid inside offensive game. And I believe that Princeton's interior defense isn't exactly outstanding. All that being the case, a game plan that emphasizes dribble penetration and posting up might be a good way to go.

Actually, no, that was the gymnasium.
