So it all works out in the end.
Those who were clamoring for a DH--voila.
Those Sabbath observers who were shut out--we get to see at least the second half (hey, half a challah is better than no challah at all).

What kind of nonsense is this??? So what if it is cold---we played during the Freaking Blizzard of 1978 on the road and got into Providence by Amtrak and the National Guard.
Rendell is right--we are a nation of wusses.

I am stunned by this. Plus, it's not like it's going to be any warmer tomorrow. Wow. I'm sure we're going to get a GREAT set of refs now...Lol. The back up Saturday crews?! I better bring my yelling voice.

This is really a joke and further evidence of continuing amateur hour at the Athletic Dept. Conditions in the city are fine! In fact, Drexel is going forward with its game against Charleston (who miraculously made it into Philly) tonight.
People have made plans to be there and may not be able to juggle them to attend tomorrow.
If we are going to continue to act like a DIII program we should just make it official.

Nonsense---the conditions will be no better tomorrow. However, Penn is closed today except for essential employees and that may be the reason, but frankly, this will simply result in our game having officials who had nothing to do tomorrow.

And as the Tigers are draining free throw after free throw down the stretch, we'll see if you regret your words. This really is incredible. The only plausible excuse is the personnel one, since the temps and conditions will be exactly the same tomorrow.

It’s also possible some personnel may have been away during New Years/Winter Break, had their return altered by the storm and due to airport backups would not have been able to get back in time for the game.

Yea, I am pretty sure this wasn't a "convenience" decision by the University. It's a fairly complicated process to host an event at the Palestra and rescheduling is done only when there isn't another option.

I'm getting the impression from my co-workers who live in the city that they did not cover themselves in glory with plowing yesterday.

Who does the postponement favor, Penn or the unmentionable ones?

The roads are clear---I had no issue getting to work either yesterday (when I had to drive particularly carefully) or today (roads are fine).
But Penn closed yesterday and today and I believe that is the reason for the postponement. It's really not fair to those who made plans to come from outside the city to go to the game, but it is what it is.
