No comment, because of the equally infantile Penn article.

So give us our 3–2 conference record, give them the first place standing and give us a home game when half the school is preoccupied with eating clubs

I'm not even sure where to start...

P38, you are more qualified to be a judge than anyone the Donald has brought forth.

That's a real quote from one of the articles? Are they making fun of themselves?

Fixed the quote.

Am I out of touch, or do you still have those silly Greek frats and sororities at Penn? I enjoyed my eating club (Elm) back in the day -- a place to eat, socialize, depressurize, shoot a few games of pool, -- and even study! The Bicker system was a little ridiculous, but no more so than what I understand is done by Fraternities. Plus we did NOT have any childish initiation practices like hazing (best left to military institutions). Clubs were an improvement to the dining halls of freshman and sophomore years in a town lacking the social institutions of a city. If we needed a city we could be in a real one by train to NYC in less than an hour.

No idea. Wasn't in one. But "can't make the game cuz it's the same time as my eating club" is the type of lame excuse I'd expect from Princeton.

Hold on there T69. Don't attach the over-publicized misdeeds of outlier houses on other campuses with Penn fraternities. My Greek affiliation was one of the best parts of my Penn experience. We did not put up with any hazing (and no, the eating clubs were not free of this according to some of my contemporaries at PU.) My fraternity not only freed me from the dorms and dining halls, but also gave me access to superior students and academic resources that were unique and valuable.

There is nothing 'silly' about them; but I might call the eating clubs of your time elitist and discriminatory.

Let the kids trash talk in the press. They will learn as they age which is the superior program.

I never tried to pledge any sororities. Or fraternities, for that matter. Zero interest.

Not part of my world, although I taught my freshman roomie how to put on a tie for the first time when he was first getting started on the whole fraternity routine.

Fraternities really aren't much of a thing at Penn. About 10% of students were affiliated with a frat when I was an undergrad, I believe that proportion has held relatively constant.

It was more like 25% in the 70's FWIW. It took a big dive when the University swept away many of the houses during the campus expansion. Most were replaced with much smaller facilities if they were replaced at all.

Since then, many of the bigger more established houses along Locust Walk ran into disciplinary issues which got them suspended. In several cases, where they did not own their houses, the school took over those buildings.

Guys, you're missing the point.

Some Princeton dude writes a putdown article about Penn and ends up whining that the game time is inconvenient for him. And further seems to be OK that Princeton is scrambling in the middle of the pack while Penn is in 1st.

It's as if you didn't think Princeton could drop to new lows - and then this.

Note the asterisk - that the second article wasn't actually written by someone from Penn.
