There is a chance that Wes Saunders meteoric rise between his freshman and sophomore years will be surpassed by Chris Egi.
Here are two online videos shot when he was 16:

before he won a HS national championship at Montverde Academy in Orlando:

or quietly put in his year as a freshman at Harvard:

I believe that we could learn quickly that Chris Egi is not your average Ivy League power forward.

Yes, a very bright kid--you have to like him. The second and fourth videos in that list are particularly worth watching.
I look forward to seeing what he can do next season. We need him or Zena to step forward and step it up next year in terms of reaching their full potential (hopefully both of them).

Interesting to see that Harvard plays at Kansas next year (12/5/15). How strong a team we have is very intriguing. Gotta think Coach has something up his sleeve (transfer, additonal recruit) ... or maybe he knows more about his current players (Egi, Chatfield, Myers) and incoming freshmen than we do.
Looking ahead, I see another potential Harvard run starting in 2016. ESPN, for all its shortcomings, suggests that Harvard might be loaded with 3* and 4* recruits. Here's ESPN's list for 2016-17.
Zena Edosomwan (Sr)
Hunter Myers (Sr?)
Chris Egi (Jr)
Andre Chatfield (Jr)
Tommy McCarthy (So)
Chris Lewis (Fr)
Justin Bassey (Fr)
Certainly, ESPN's rankings are not the gold standard and there are major question marks (Myers and 2016 recruits actually attending), but I'm wondering if any Ivy program (now or in recent memory) has fielded a roster with 7 players of 3* or better?
[Note: 247 Sports also lists incoming freshmen McCarthy, Perez and Johnson as 3* and Dragovic as 2/3*]

It will be interesting to see if the Great Hard-to-Spell Hope develops into some semblance of the player he was touted to be.

Yes, Zena is needed to development into the centerpiece. Coach Amaker certainly moved him ahead of Kenyatta for the Ivy schedule and the game against North Carolina.
Zena was a defensive presence at the start of games, but he never seemed to finish those games (Jonah Travis replaced him). Very strange rotation.

Zena was certainly given every opportunity to prove his ability and improve his performance. Unfortunately, this came at the expense of playing time for Kenyatta, Travis, Cummins, and even Egi. I hope this investment in him pays off next year. He will need to convert significant potential into much better performance.

Sportsnet Canada covered Chris Egi as he was one of three students to give speeches at the recent Harvard Commencement Day. Egi will not seek to play professional basketball and, instead, will move on to Goldman Sachs in NYC.
