One day these guys will learn how to close out a game. When they do they’ll be pretty good.

Brown had spurts of playing very well in a road game against a decent team. After a very jumpy first 15 minutes Brown played great for the next 20. But they lost another double digit 2nd half lead, mostly because they stopped being aggressive on offense. O got very tentative the last 7 minutes. I don’t think Dez got a single shot.

Refs made bad calls throughout on both sides. But it was worse for Brown - calling Brown for two Ts, an over-and-back turnover that was just plain wrong, and a late whistle on a drive with 1 second left that gave LIU the win.

Still, Brown shouldn’t have been in that spot. They were up 11 with 6 to go with two LIU starters having fouled out. It was theirs to close it and they didn’t. They let their 2 guard Batts get hot - and give him credit because he had ice in his veins. And they stopped attacking.

They defended very well through the middle of the game. They got pounded on the o-boards. Okolie, Choh and Howard all had fabulous games. Dez was very good, but didn’t see enough chances down the stretch. Anderson got better as the game went on, and nice contributions from Hunsaker, Sullivan and Mitchell who made his first three. T was 1-9 from the line, so there’s your game, but LIU missed nearly as many FTs as Brown did.

Brown ran two amazing plays with under 2 seconds remaining: getting the ball to Dez at halfcourt so he could call a time out and then freeing Dez when everybody was keying on him to still get him an open look from three. Amazing.

Oh, and seven blocks beteeen Dez and T.

Good game though. One they should have had.
LET'S go BRU-no (duh. nuh. nuh-nuh-nuh)

Tough place to play....but with any team like that, you double the one on one star and force passes. I love Brown's offensive potential, but they have to find a way to pressure the ballhandler better. Still young, though and I expect them to compete for 4th
