Not that much to write. A little surprising that Brown lost this badly to a struggling and young URI squad. Rhody played pressure defense and made the offense uncomfortable. It also felt like Brown had maybe been lulled to sleep by five games in a row at home, with the last two vs. a D3 team and a Bryant squad that lost to Yale at home tonight by over 40. The offense never got going and was stifled all game.

I think Dez wanted to make a splash and that got the best of him. He can make many of those shots but going oh for nine from three and 2-2 from two would suggest that he needs to find ways to get closer to the basket. No mid range or close range game tonight. I can’t remember the last time he drove on somebody and actually took a layup or a dunk that wasn’t a break away or an alley oop. He has been strong for most of the season, but has he taken anyone to the hole off the dribble?
LET'S go BRU-no (duh. nuh. nuh-nuh-nuh)

    In response to Bruno

That about covers it Bruno. Too much speed and strength. The Bears were 9th in nation defending threes but URI was 2nd and it showed. Cambridge was 0 for 9 and the shots were from very deep and at times were off balance threes. He did not play disciplined. The offense in general was uncomfortable against the Ram’s pressure whether inside or outside. Rhody pounded it inside early and had much success. Langevine had 19 pts and 17 rebs. Four star rookie Harris found his game against the smaller Bears going 6 for 6.

A good smack in the face for Brown after 5 home games against lighter competition. We play Stony Brook soon and they upset URI last week by 10 in Kingston. Perhaps this loss, coupled win a winnable game at Navy on Saturday and what will be a very difficult challenge at Butler next week will help prepare the Bears for that Stony Brook game at the Pitz.
