The early signing period for basketball started today and runs eight days. Thus far I've seen signing info for the following:

- Alex Timmerman: https://twitter.com/NBCSPreps/status/1062 838838412...

I hope they are right in listing him at 6-9.

- Jake van der Heijden: https://twitter.com/RavensAthletics/statu s/1062762...

Still waiting to see something on Alex Rice and Malachi Rhodes.

And on the women's side:

- Tai Johnson: https://twitter.com/FightnPlanets/status/ 106279757...

- Emma Shaffer: https://twitter.com/UA_BBALL/status/10624 830214362...

Still waiting for something on PF Carly Krsul and wing Brooke Mullin.

Women's soccer signed a seven-player class that appears to have some good players in it. The Bison graduate seven, but only three of that group saw much playing time.

Add this to this year's freshman class and they should be able to rebuild to a championship caliber team.

Definitely possible, although Colgate and Boston U have a lot more scholarship money than does Bucknell.

That would not surprise me.

I hope that they eat LOTS of food and watch football all day tomorrow. That is my general plan.

No idea. But that can't be good. The long delay in the press release suggests that there was some issue that was not immediately resolved. Had he told them he was not coming during the signing period, they could have gone ahead with the release you are seeing now.

What is confusing is that a picture of his signing ceremony at the Patrick School was posted on twitter on November 21st. Either he never sent in the signed LOI or there was some other issue, perhaps with his admission. Just speculating. I suppose there is a chance that he will still end up a Bison but I am not optimistic.

Could it be something like an academic issue? BTW, this is pure speculation. No facts whatsoever.

Could this possibly open the door for a Sestina 5th year?

I like the way that you think, but for sake of argument, why wouldn't Sestina get a Masters at a bigger school that needs a 1 year player?

And also if that idea was in play, I think it would have happened long before they opted to use the fourth scholarship on someone else.

One other thing to remember is that the Bucknell administration has made it very hard for athletes to get an extra medical redshirt year. Several good athletes - not basketball - who wanted to play another year have been turned down in the past two years.
