Start time has been moved up to noon to try to beat the incoming storm.

Women's game at Colgate moved earlier too.

The Bison usually bus to Lehigh (and Lafayette) on game day. But in this case - with a very early starting time - I really hope they got hotel rooms for Friday night. Getting up by 6 AM to take a two-hour bus ride is not optimal to say the least.

Pretty sure that in Monday’s postgame interview, someone mentioned they’d be arriving in Bethlehem on Friday.

This is good for me. Mrs. Bison89 has me committed to a function that night. Now, I can watch the game online.

Good decision. I know that most of the time they simply bus over to Bethlehem (or Easton) on game day.

I wonder what this will do to attendance. When a blizzard struck several years ago for this game, Bison fans outnumbered Lehigh fans.

Could we see Colgate-like numbers?

Stabler is a tomb on a good day. You might be able to hear a pin drop on Saturday.

Reportedly they had sold a lot more tickets than normal - combination of it being on a Saturday, plus a double-header, plus LU having had its best OOC record since CJ was there (albeit against a fairly weak schedule), plus it matching the top two teams.
Unfortunately the Bison fan bus was canceled due to the weather, so that's a few less fans rooting for the good guys.

I remember going to one game at Stabler that was so quiet that every time that I yelled something at then Head Coach Billy Taylor, he either turned his head or winced. One of the times, I seem to remember yelling something like, "Hey, Billy, how was that job interview? Where are you going next?" For some reason, he did not like that. I don't know why . . .

One huge issue tomorrow will be defending the three-point line, while at the same time not giving up easy drives. As you may know, Lehigh is the runaway leader in the NCAA in 3-point percentage, hitting over 46% on the year. (The all-time PL record is 41.8%.)
Here are the numbers for their main shooters:
Lance Tejada 46-97 47.4%
Pat Andree 45-94 47.9%
Kyle Leufroy 25-56 44.6%
Jordan Cohen 20-39 51.3%
Marques Wilson 9-24 37.5%
Caleb Bennett 9-24 37.5%
Note that Marques Wilson is reportedly out for the year, due to academic problems and/or personal issues.

Mock "Dr." Dr. Reed all we want but I can't help wondering if he's discovered some secret sauce w/r/t 3 pt. drills & skills training. Holy mackerel, those numbers are off-the-charts amazing.
Go Bison!

Not sure if it's special drills, as opposed to him having landed four really good long-distance shooters through recruiting and transfers. One thing that likely helps their percentage is that, for a great shooting team, they don't really take a lot of three-pointers. Very selective, maybe overly so.
Only 36.9% of their FGA's are from behind the arc, which ranks 225th in the NCAA. With their unbelievable accuracy, you'd think they'd figure out a way to shoot more of them. Otoh, a reason for their accuracy is likely that they only take good open looks. That seems to be the case across the NCAA. In general, the teams that shoot a lot of threes are only average in terms of their percentage, while the teams that don't shoot many generally have a much better percentage.
As for "Doctor" Reed, I wish I could find the quote from Steve Jobs, when he voiced his opinion about how pretentious he found it for people who are not medical doctors or scientists to insist on being called "doctor". Not sure if a PhD in Instructional Technology from Wayne State would have passed Jobs' test.

As always, appreciate the added context.
And with all due respect to Steve Jobs and his many, many accomplishments, the dude washed his feet in the toilet and destroyed his pancreas because of a mistaken belief in the all-healing powers of an all-fruit diet.
I'll leave proclamations re: scholarly success to the academics.
Go Bison!

No I definitely agree. There is no reason a basketball coach should have other refer to him as a doctor. Not only does it sound pretentious, it gives a false bravado that his coaching technique is surgical (pun intended because I’m funny). But seriously the guy is a good recruiter...bad coach. Hope we can take advatage, because this game will dictate the season going forward.

We've always had a tough time winning at Stabler and this game will be no different. We'll need to match their 3 point shooting and get some easy buckets inside to have a chance.
