Quick diversion.
Ivy hockey just completed its second weekend, with the league's teams starting almost a month after others and playing amongst themselves.
The sport ranks 62 teams in its Power and RPI rankings.
Undefeated Harvard is number 13, the remaining 5 Ivies are bunched at Nos. 52 through 60, even perennial powerhouse Cornell.
What gives? Could this be the result of no competition in 2020-21? Seems it didn't hit basketball as hard as it has hockey.
No idea if Harvard is any good as its 4 contests have been all againt its brethren. Last night Yale mustered only 4 shots on goal over the first 2 periods.
Shaping up to be a sad season for the league that originated this US collegiate sport.

I hear your argument about the Covid pause, but if you take a look at the Women's side, who went through the same pause, Yale is currently no. 1 and Cornell is no. 5, according to Pairwise. Three other teams - Princeton, Brown and Harvard - are in the top 25, although I should note that there are only 42 teams in women's college hockey.
Brown, Princeton, Dartmouth and Yale were the bottom 4 in the ECAC last year on the men's side - Dartmouth is in a rebuild, Yale feels like it might need to think about moving on from Keith Allain, as successful as he has been, and Brown perennially underachieves with Brendan Whittet at the helm. Princeton has been a down-swing since winning the ECAC tournament in 2018. I think Harvard's success speaks more to their recruiting success, which is head and shoulders above the rest of the league, than to a downturn due to the Covid pause.
