How would you like to see former Bucknell ballers playing in a nationwide tournament where the top prize nets the team $2 million, with head coach Kevin Bettencourt pacing the sideline? You might remember "The Basketball Tournament" (TBT) from last summer. John Griffin is organizing a team, but before they can lace 'em up and play even a single game, they have to amass online fans at the TBT site. Please go here to make the vision a reality: https://www.thetournament.com/teams/pa-roadwarrior... The roster is tentative at this point, but might include Charles Lee, Chris McNaughton, Griffin, Cameron Ayers, Bryan Fitzpatrick, Donald Brown, Bryson Johnson and others. I'd love to see that! |

"Bucknell Pulls Ahead of Arkansas." The Bucknell alumni team now has a few more votes than "40 Minutes of Hell (Arkansas Alumni)." If Griffin, Bettencourt and all the guys are to have a chance, full participation by this message board is probably a must. Please go to the site, vote, and ask pals and family to do the same. https://www.thetournament.com/teams/pa-roadwarrior... If they can make it into the field, it could really spice up the off-season for us. |

The Bucknell team is now listed as "eligible," but I think they still need more votes, so please become a fan and ask others to as well. https://www.thetournament.com/teams/pa-roadwarrior... Check out the confirmed roster. We HAVE to get these guys on the court: John Griffin Cameron Ayers Abe Badmus Donald Brown Brian Fitzpatrick Chris Hass Bryson Johnson Charles Lee Darryl Shazier Joe Willman and Penn's Mark Zoller Mike Muscala listed as a "booster." |

Gallagher Center is only about 25-30 minutes from home. So, depending upon the time and my sons' sports schedule, I will try to make it. Go Bison!

Oh my...scratch the question mark from the thread title, because the Bucknell alumni team just got an at-large bid into The Basketball Tournament! That's great news. It had become apparent that they were going to fall short in the votes - largely due to going up against teams rostered by power-conference players with huge fan bases - so it wasn't looking good. Nice to get the respect of an at-large bid.

A few weeks ago, there was one interesting addition to the original roster: Chris McNaughton. The 12-man roster looks like this: PG - Badmus, Shazier SG - Griffin, B. Johnson Wing/SF - Ayers, Hass, Lee PF - Willman, Brown, Zoller (Penn) C - McNaughton, Fitzpatrick If it were a few years earlier, this would be a really good roster - but I doubt some of the players are nearly as good as they once were. But it will be interesting to see. BTW, those who don't follow the Ivy League may not be familiar with Mark Zoller - but he was a very good player back in 2004-07. Was 1st team All-Ivy twice and led the league in scoring. I presume his connection to this team is the fact that he was a H.S. teammate of John Griffin.

Here is a list of the teams in the Northeast Region. Click to see the rosters. Some items of interest: - Boeheim's Army has a number of Syracuse alums who were very good players. - Supernova, a team of Villanova alums, includes Scotty Reynolds and Corey Fisher. - Both LaSalle and Temple have teams that are exclusively alums of the two schools.

Yes, I got the email today announcing their inclusion as well as how to buy tickets. I definitely want to go to at least the Saturday game. Anybody know yet what time they may play on Saturday? Also, I assume all players have been working out some to prepare. Is Griffin healthy enough to to play much? This actually is pretty exciting. |

I would travel from the idyllic confines of Lewisburg to see this team play in Philly provided golf and lunch are included in the outing. My starting five would be Badmus, Joe W., Hass, McNaughten, and Johnson. This team would be fun to watch and hard to beat! Who is the coach? |

Has anyone seen a game schedule for the first round on the 16th? Was one the TBT site and it just says the first round is 8 games from 9 a.m. - 11 p.m. Just curious if the Roadwarriors are playing at 9 in the morning or 9 at night. Also, I see Bryson is listed as a coach, so he will not play? |

MrPhillie, it looks like the Bison89 Family will be tied up all weekend at a 2 day Lax tournament. So, we will probably not be able to make the game. BTW, is it being shown live online?

Road Warriors win 89-88 over the Nova. Bucknell R Warriors played almost 3/4 of the 2nd half with 5 on 4, as Scottie Reynolds went out with shoulder injury and Nova only had 5 players, and that made no sense too me. Nova had a 19 point lead when R Warriors started the comeback,. |

It was good to see them get the win, after coming back from 20 pts down to a 6 pt lead with about 2:15 to go. Then they gave the lead right back. Just keep playing guys, don't slow up once you get the lead. On to the number 3 seed!

It was nostalgic to see this team together. As for the game itself, the Roadwarriors were a step behind Nova much of the game and Nova was hot from three. I cannot believe Nova came with just five players. It stinks for them they had to play with four players much of the second half, but I don't feel sorry for them. Why do you have only five players to begin with? Crazy. The 'Warriors have to play quicker and smaller and just let Hass, Ayers, Lee and Shazier go crazy from three to hang within 20 of the The Untouchables. Good experience though! |

Oh, and it wouldn't be a Bucknell game if the officiating wasn't horrible. By far the worst officiated game of the four we saw. Not even close. |

Game time is 2:30. The team they are playing is highly athletic, quick, has inside and outside threats (although three-point shooting is by far the shot of choice for every team). They are not a huge team but can get up. It would be nice if the Roadwarriors would have somebody that is just a coach. I imagine it was difficult for Charles to handle that and playing, especially when it was apparent the team needed to go smaller and change the style of play to get back into the game. |

Tied and going to OT. Came from 15 back. Clutch threes by Charles Lee and Cam Ayers actually put the Bison up by two, but Pitt hit a crazy scoop shot at the buzzer. Unfortunately this tournament has the stupid rule where teams get to inbound near their offensive basket after a timeout. Otherwise it probably would have been over.

Anyone in attendance see the last shot? The camera operator didn't pan the camera over for us online viewers. Seems like the refs maybe didn't call a foul on a three pointer? |

Wow, great comeback by the RW's. Cam with some huge shots at he end. A prayer of a scoop shot from a terrible angle high off the backboard by Wanamaker to tie it. The last play? No idea what happened. No camera and the terrible announcer never said a word. From the sound of Lee and Griffin it was an awful no-call on last play. I have to say, that was exciting to watch. I thought we would lose by 20 this game so I am impressed. I hope Hass isn't hurt too badly. We could've used him the second half this game. |

Really was an exciting game! You would think a two point lead with 2.9 to go would stand up unless there was a Laettner/Muscala miracle, but the inbound at half court rule made the difference. After requiring a 15 minute "power play" to beat nova, who would think we would have much chance yesterday. Hass apparently not available down the stretch. He was limping pretty badly. Hopefully he is ok. Stupid announcer did not know the game was going to OT until play was ready to start. He said they put .04 seconds back on the clock. |

The Pitt team that the Bison took to OT and deserved to beat on Sunday just took down a loaded Syracuse team. Had about ten good 'Cuse alums on it.

Yes I saw the game. I thought the 'Cuse team would take it by ten but the Pitt team is formidable. Very impressive that the Bucknell team to not only hang in without perhaps their best offensive player in the second half, but really, deserve to win the game. That Wanamaker shot to force overtime was just very lucky given his body angle and angle to the backboard. I wonder how the Warriors would have fared against the Syracuse squad? |

A fun read about the "Basketball Tournament" juggernaut that is 'Overseas Elite', featuring the likes of Errick McCollum (brother of C.J.), and short-lived Bucknell Center Todd O'Brien. Todd was on my freshman hall, and I can confirm that he is both tall and good at basketball. https://deadspin.com/how-one-team-built-a- dynasty-... |
