Cornell had two other recruits commit to the school for the Fall of 2017.

Riley Voss is a two star recruit out of Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati. He is a 6'6" small forward who reportedly has solid ball handling and passing skills.

Voss is a 1st Team All-Greater Catholic League member who averaged 6.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game last season. The three-year starter had offers from Hillsdale College, Christian Brothers University and Air Force.

Jake Kuhn is a 2 start guard out of St. Maria Goretti in Hagerstown, Maryland. Kuhn transferred from Walt Whitman High School (MD) for the '15 - '16 season. He is a solid three point shooter, who can also drive the lane.

Kuhn suffered a knee injury playing football that kept him out of the '14 - '15 season. However, he came back strong last year and received offers from Air Force, Mount St. Mary's, St. Francis (PA), Maine, New Hampshire, NJIT and Yale.

Jerry Ben, a 6'9" forward from Michigan, was scheduled to be at Cornell this year, but he is spending a year at the Kent School in Connecticut. If Ben decides to join the program in the fall of 2017, Coach Earl will have 4 recruits in place.

Hard to think of any of Earl's three recruits so far as anything other than potential role players, but maybe one of them makes the jump. He gets a pass on the first year because he's late jumping on some players.

Ben will be interesting to follow; he's so new to the sport that he could explode, but I wouldn't be shocked to hear he was looking around. Just the way things go nowadays.

Any idea what happened to BRF? The blog seems to have been abandoned and not even social accounts are active.

As much as we Penn fans liked to disagree with him, it was still good to have him out there creating conversation.

Mike, speak for yourself. I don't really miss him. If you like hyperbole, try the Columbia Board. Sorry, but the Cubs have put me in a foul mood.

I miss his ability to hunt down every speck of news about the team. I don't miss his over the top opinion and trying to reason with him.

Frequent posters at his old blog are hunting for a new home (I noticed Mike suggesting over here.)

Yeah I have my recruiting pitch but I don't think they're buying from a Penn fan. Maybe you should give it a try, haha.

Cornell recently received a commitment from Terrence McBride.

McBride plays shooting guard for Sierra Canyon, Max Prep's #1 team in the country. Verbal Commits lists him as a 2 star recruit. He is listed as 6'0" at VC and 6'3" on the team's website.

The LA Daily News has McBride on its All-Area Pre-Season team, along with teammates Marvin Bagley III (nation's top juniors), Cody Riley (UCLA signee)and Remy Martin (Arizona State). The paper notes "Underrated glue guy that knows his role and thrives in it".

ESPN states "McBride is a quick and lanky combo-guard. He has a great burst (1st step) off the dribble and can get into the lane at will. In addition, he can knock down deep jump shots (off the catch) and his release is smooth.

Seems like a really good pick-up for Coach Earl. With the loss of Robert Hatter next year, the team will need someone to play the point. Hopefully, McBride can move into that spot and compliment Matt Morgan.

In other recruiting information, 6'9" Jerry Ben is no longer listed on the team's VC site.

The Kent School Hoops twitter feed says Ben reopened his recruiting in late November: "News of reopening of Jerry Ben's recruitment went public yesterday. Calls from Kansas State, UVM, and CCSU today."

Jimmy Boeheim, son of Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim, has committed to Cornell.

http://collegebasketball.nbcsports.com/2017/02/28/...

Boeheim is a 6'7" 2 star small forward who is playing at New Hampton (New Hampshire) Prep this year. He previously was at Jamesville-Dewitt (New York) High. He averaged 23.3 points last year.

According to his father, the younger Boeheim can play a stretch-4, shoot the three and rebound.

Dartmouth was also recruiting Boeheim.

Boeheim is the 5th recruit for Coach Earl. He will join Terrance McBride (PG), Jake Kuhn (SG), Bryan Knapp (SG), and Riley Voss (SF).

According to ESPN, not just son, but oldest son.

Did we ever find out what happened to David Onourah? Cornell really could have used his presence this year.

I haven't heard. He just disappeared from the bench and then was off the roster. Smith was off the final roster as well and neither were recognized on senior night.

Chukuka Emili, a 6' 6" small forward from New City, NY, committed to Cornell on March 20th.

Emili is a 2 star JUCO transfer and will enter his junior year at Cornell. He started out as a student at Seton Hall, but was not on the basketball team.

Trying to make it to Division I basketball, he transferred to Rockland Community College and spent one year before going to New Mexico Military Institute.

Last year at Rockland Community College, Emilie started all 29 games, averaging 13.3 points and 9.0 rebounds in 8.9 minutes.

This year at NMMI, he started 4 of 28 games, averaging 6.0 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in 7.0 minutes of play.

Jimmy Boeheim was recently interviewed at the Syracuse Post Standard.

http://www.syracuse.com/orangebasketball/inde x.ssf...

Boeheim, a 6'7" 210 pound forward, played this past season at New Hampton School. Prior to that, he played at Jamesville-DeWitt. This year he averaged 8.7 points, 5.8 rebounds per game, shooting 42% overall and 32% from three point.

I wonder if he would melt if asked to play man defense.

If you check out the NMMI website, 7 minutes can't be right. The game log has a dozen or so times where Emili played 1 or 0 minutes, but scored in double figures. And times he started but accumulated no stats. I have no idea about Emili as a player, but have no faith in the NMMI's reported stats.
