Speculation, but IIRC he had some foot problems when he was at Bucknell Had serious case of plantar fasciitis. Also had a stress fracture in his foot at the end of the season. I think he had some surgical procedure while sitting out last year. Wouldn't be surprised if this latest surgery is related to the foot problems.
