Davenport got measured today for the senior bowl, which is Saturday at 1:30. Davenport is on the North team. 6'6" 310 pounds, 87.5" wingspan, 36" arm length. His wingspan and arm length were the longest at the senior bowl and will help improve his draft stock. |

I do not follow football as closely as I should. Is he an OT?

Yeah he played left tackle at Bucknell. I've seen his draft projections to be anywhere from 2nd round to 5th or 6th round mostly because of his level of competition. If he practices well this week and plays well Saturday, he could be on his way the second round or maybe even the first round. Regardless of where he gets drafted, it'll cool to have another major pro athlete come from Bucknell. |

The benefits to Bloomsburg of Jahri Evans have been huge for admissions and scholarships. One elite player for a D2 and FCS school can be huge for reasons other than sports. Silly question but I'm asking honestly . Is he good enough in the eyeball test? Did he play at a totally superior level in PL? |

Yeah, I thought he dominated the competition but since the competition was a lower level, it's tough to see how it'll translate to pro level guys. |

Domination of whatever level you play is a good place to start. I hope he gets drafted and by a team that can assess and grow his skills. Some guys never make it even after being drafted and some explode. Yes they need to grow where they are planted but good soil helps! |

Quick timeout from basketball to wish Davenport the best of luck at the NFL combine, which starts today. |

Stunning plot twist! "One of the players I was most excited to see at the Senior Bowl was Bucknell offensive lineman Julie’n Davenport. Or was it Julién? I had seen it spelled both ways. According to a scout, Bucknell printed his name incorrectly in the media guide as a freshman, Davenport was too shy to correct them and lived for four years with everyone spelling it wrong. 'That’s true,' says Julién (correct spelling), when I relayed the story to him last week. 'I didn’t want to make it a big deal, I let it roll. Now that I’m going through this whole process I’m like, Alright, time to get this thing fixed.' " http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2017/02/28/nfl-d raft-combi... |

Davenport will play in his first preseason game tonight in Carolina. The game is on the NFL network and he hasn't played yet with the game in the second quarter. |

Davenport was inactive last week but he his active tonight and was blocking from the tight end position on the first drive since the Texans have 3 injured tight ends. |

Catching up on this. Julien has missed the last couple of games with a shoulder injury, but before that he did dress for 7 games and started two.

In case you weren't watching, Julien started the last few games at Left Tackle for the Texans. Graded out reasonably well. Here's an interview with him at the end of the season: https://twitter.com/HoustonTexans/status/ 948720649...

Article highlighting the importance of Julien's (now starting) role at LT for the Texans this year. Protecting Watson's blind side, particularly because he is coming off an ACL injury, will have Julien under a Texas-sized microscope this year. I'm a Texans fan, so this is a fun development. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/sports/texans/art... |

I’m a Jaguars fan who will cheer for Davenport while he’s trying to handle the best defense in the NFL! Any word on how Abdullah is doing with the Bears? |

Any word on how Abdullah is doing with the Bears? He played a good portion of the second half of the hall of fame game against the ravens last Thursday. He was credited with 2 tackles, 1 solo tackle, 1 QB hit and a half sack of Lamar Jackson. |

Looking at the situation, I don't think he has much chance of making the active roster - but a good summer could earn him a spot on the practice squad. Not sure why he signed with the Bears, who use a 3-4 defense. He's really not bulky enough for a prototypical nose tackle, which is where he's playing. I would have thought he'd be a better fit in a 4-3, where the two DT's normally don't carry the weight of an NFL nose tackle. The Bears' other two NT's weigh 325+, compared to Abdullah's listed 295 lbs - and many NFL NT's are 350 or more. When he signed with the Bears, I thought they might have him move out to DE, but no sign of that at this point.

Abdullah deflected a pass last night to create an interception. Still don't expect him to make the roster, but I think he has a good chance to end up on the practice squad. https://twitter.com/Bucknell_FB/status/10 355293504...

Starting Left Tackles get paid very well in the NFL if they can stick around. Also, if they can stay healthy, they can easily play into their late 30s.

At the Jags game. Davenport is getting worked at left tackle by Yannick Ngakoue. Ugly worked. |

He was benched before the end of the half. I’m not sure if he was hurt or how he’ll rate out but I was watching him with altruistic interest and he looked lost. |
