17.5 pt spread seems extreme considering what Dartmouth is playing for. What will Mitch and the Tigers do? If he did not want to play a 1st round away game next weekend at the Palestra, he would be playing a lot of 2nd and 3rd team players but he will not. Undefeated season is a goal plus he has ethics and integrity -- probably tempting but wrong. |

Well, Tommy Amaker holds those strings anyway. If Tommy wants Penn to Play Princeton next week in the Palestra, he is the only one who can arrange it. Unlikely.... |

I'd be surprised if either P or H plays intentionally soft tonight. Tigers have the undefeated conference record to play for and I don't think Amaker wants his young team going into the ILT on a 2-game losing streak. |

A lot of smiling Tiger players. Do not have the game face on yet other than Cook. |

Up by 19 in the first half, badly outhustling Dartmouth, the seniors looking sharp tonight. Loved Miller's trey, now 1-1 for his career. Miller with a nice assist, Weisz with a couple of pretty passes for scores, Cannady and Cook on the sharp end, plus Weisz knocking in shots. Fun so far. |

Up by 30 and diving for balls by Weisz and Cook. Men vs boys. |

Up 30 and it is fun to watch. Weisz's passing has been even more impressive than usual. Stephens playing hard on D but deferring big-time on the offensive end, although he looked effortless on the two shot attempts he took. 52-22 is a score I could get used to seeing. |

Up 65-24 with 15:00 to go in the game. Maybe time to rotate out some of the starters, although the seniors are probably going to play a lot. Miller having a great game offensively for him, with 9 points and some pretty assists. |

Police called to investigate slaughter going on at Jadwin Gymnasium. Sheep could be seen fleeing the building the building in droves...On a serious note good to see Pete Miller finding out that scoring can be good? May need him to do that more when they go to the NCAAs? |

Up 78-36 with 8:15 to go. I can't remember the last time the Tigers had more than doubled up a conference opponent this late in the game. I remember a game back when I was in school where Dartmouth was held to 28 total, but nothing with this much scoring. |

Very sweet to have the Ivy Championship Cup presented to the team at Jadwin and everyone had the opportunity to cut down the nets. Special congratulations to Mitch, Cook and Weisz for accomplishing what seemed to be a tough hill to climb after disappointing non-conference play and season ending injuries to Brase and Caruso. The team gave Brase special recognition at the end of the game and you can tell that he is held in special regard by his teammates. You can also tell the team has total respect for Coach H. when he took his turn cutting the net. Nice touch as they had a 50th year anniversary recognition at halftime for the 1966-67 25-3 team -- all living members attended including Thomforde, Hummer, etc. One of the top Tiger players in recent times prior to the start of the season surprised several of us when he predicted that the Tigers would go 14-0 and he is not an eternal optimist. He thought that the Harvard freshmen were very good but not good enough to overcome senior leadership and skill level of the Tigers upper class -- a few of us thought he might be off his rocker. The irony is that the Harvard freshmen certainly got better during the course of the season as anticipated but so did the Tigers. At the end of the day, the Tigers EARNED the IL Championship and by definition, they are the best team in the IL. T ** Boudreaux was swarmed but he has talent and guts and Fleming has guts. |

14-0 is 14-0. Myles Stephens doesn't take a game off, does he? The future is bright. There's plenty of business to take care of, though. After Mitch's choke jobs in the past, he can't look past next weekend. Get them fired up like their lives depend on it. Don't let this team become the '15-16 Warriors of the Ivy League. |

Princeton's biggest games this year were against H and Y and they played with great purpose and determination and swept all 4 games: two final possession nail biters, one late pull-away win and a blow-out on a court where they had not won in years. I am confident that they will be ready next weekend and it is ludicrous to think they could be looking past two elimination games when these players, the seniors in particular, have dreamed about playing in the Big Dance. Harvard looked very disorganized and ragged last night against Penn, which is a scrappy team. Princeton can find more ways to win than either the Crimson or Quakers so I like the Tigers' chances, but playing on Penn's home court (grrr...) certainly will increase the degree of difficulty to make the final. I love this team and I look forward to being there next weekend and hope they continue this magical run. Go Tigers! |

17.5 pt spread seems extreme Yes it did at the time. But..... The game had a surreal feel. Everything went in our favor. Never in trouble. Even if we missed a shot, we got the rebound, sometimes twice. Miller "pures" a three. Brennan drives aggressively. Yet during the entire game deep from within I hear a voice: "but you still need to go to the Palestra and beat Penn". The newly un-dead team. In past years there would be a long layoff until the NCAA tournament. This year we still must play our way in, but at least if successful, we won't be rusty. It has been a great year; let's hope it continues. |

Realistically, while the Penn game may seem the most unfair and absurd aspect of the folly, it is the requirement to beat Harvard or Yale (can't forget them) for a third time that is the biggest imposition. The upside is that with a two-game extension of their streak, Princeton can have the best Ivy season in history and will have beaten nemeses old and new three times in one year. |
