After a bit of a shaky start defensively, the Bison buckled down and pulled away to beat American by 12 in the semi-final. On to the final on Sunday vs the winner of Army-Navy. http://www.bucknellbison.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_O... |

Navy threw in a wild three out of the deep corner with 0.5 seconds left to win by one. They had blown a big lead before the game-winner. Navy was in complete disarray in the final seconds but their coach opted to not take a timeout. They hit,the shot, but a huge amount of luck was involved.

Off to Sojka soon to watch the women play Navy. We are the better team, but Navy is scrappy and seems to find ways to win. GO BISON! |

Bison are getting killed when they have their three post players on the court together. Can't defend Navy's drive and kick. Navy has a number of players who can hit an open three. Navy 37. BU 33 at the half. Navy is 8-11 on threes, largely against the big Bison lineup.

Another gutsy win for the women. Navy's 3 point shooting was unbelievable. They cooled off a bit in the 2nd half, but still shot 50% from 3. Our starting guards struggled on offense all day, but DeBoer and Walker stepped up big time when it counted. ESPN has us as a #14 playing at Duke. |

The last projection I saw had Bucknell a 14 seed. I like our chances against any of the #3's or 4's. |

DeBoer was name tournament MVP and for good reason. She almost single handedly carried the team in the second half. She ended up with 30 points, 9-14 FG, 5-6 3FG, 7-8 FT, along with 10 reb. http://www.bucknellbison.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_O... |

Bison have now won 28 in a row in Sojka. Only UConn has a longer home win streak.

Great game. Building strong program for future. Given more depth at guard, team should be at top of league for years. |

Need to pay Coach to keep him. He can jump to big major but let's prevent him from going genuine mid-major. Possible? |

Would be good show of faith, but we likely need to sell him more on school, positive place to raise family, etc. As a big fan of women's basketball, likely several of the "big teams" pay their assistants more than he currently makes. We won't win bidding war and not sure he has been in place long enough to get the "offer you can't refuse" for a few years. Others may pay more but also tend to fire quickly. He's relatively young and intangibles in Lewisburg may offset a pure money deal. |

On the first video, you can see that the leaders of the court-storming were men's team players. I saw 11 of the 13 there, plus Coach Davis. It's too bad this coincided with spring break.

It was great that the men's team was there. They were among the loudest and most vocal in Sojka. I'm not sure they all stormed the court, but I recall seeing all 13 of them there. |

Likely student and community support will go long way in recruiting and keeping coach in place. Anyone know what the average attendance was past year? Impressed the men's team, Coach Davis and others there. |

One of the referees in today's game was Joe Vaszily. He is regarded as one of the top five officials in women's basketball, and has refereed a game in at least the last three Final Fours. Also is frequently seen refereeing UConn's top out of conference games.

Talked to Joe at Semi on Friday, he was longtime PL ref with Denise Brooks, Bryan Brunette, Mark Zentz and they are all big sillies in womens officiating now... Great game yesterday.. Glad Navy has at least WNIT to fall back on.. Aaron's team is going to be a nightmare for someone in a 4-13, 5-12 match up.. PL champs have shown up at MD multiple times last couple of years.. |

Women get Maryland! A very classless group as they mentioned bucknell once. |

Maryland is a very tough matchup. They are the top 3 seed, but should have been a 2. Ranked 3rd in the nation with a 30-2 record. Gave UConn a very tough game. They have 8 Mc Donald All Americans iirc. They were likely given a 3 seed as a lesson from the committee for playing a weak ooc schedule (except for UConn). The Bison are a 14 seed, which is what they deserved. On the women's side, there weren't nearly as many conference upsets, so BU didn't jump many teams.

Actually, Maryland is ranked 3rd (AP) and 4th (coaches). How does that get you a 3 seed? Would have much rather gotten FSU (10/13) or been a 15 playing Duke (9/9). All tough matchups, but c'mon! |

AP and Coaches polls have nothing to do with the analytics they use to seed teams. The chair on ESPN sounded about as clueless as could possibly be though when interviewed. Sad. Hoping to go to see the game, but, Navy plays at GW also Friday in WNIT. |

Just hope we play well and keep the margin under 40. Good luck to the Mids on Friday. Hope they can keep up their hot shooting. |

Hoping to go to see the game, but, Navy plays at GW also Friday in WNIT. Certainly the polls aren't one of the things looked at by the committee, but a lot of the factors considered by the voters should be the same as those used by the committee: quality wins, record, etc. fwiw, Maryland is much better than a 3 seed in Sagarin and Massey ratings as well, both of which use a team's entire body of work. Agree about the cluelessness. The women's committee is far worse than the men's, and made several major blunders including breaking their own bracketing rules. Every year they screw up a few seeds badly. I think a lot of the members do no homework at all.
