I was not excusing Boudin or Gilbert. I was pointing out the irony that Boudin came from such an accomplished family. I have no sympathy for her, do not think she should be at Columbia, but will note in passing that unlike Gilbert she has shown remorse. I also think that faculty members like Khalidi and Franke are a much more insidious influence on campus right now than Boudin.
