In these days of limited bb news, I did stumble across the fact that the Penn women will play in the preseason NIT and that they secured a commitment from a 3*** player named Kennedy Suttle. |

Where did you find that information? I went to the Women's NIT site and it does not mention Penn being in the 16 team field - http://www.womensnit.com/news/coast-to-coast-e xcel... Texas A& M is in the NIT and it does mention that the Aggies beat Penn in this year's NCAA Tournament (ugh!!) |

That George Mason article actually lists 17 teams (including Penn) while the NIT article mentions 16 teams (not including Penn). |

Mia Lakstigala (fall class of 2018) of Napperville Central High School (Ill.) announced that she has chosen Penn. The article below states that she decided on attending Wharton, since the team only gets one slot at the school and she wanted to lock it up early. http://basketball.dailyherald.com/sports/20170619/... She is a 5'10" and can play both guard positions. Last season, she averaged 19.8 points and 5.1 assists, while being named Co-MVP of the DuPage Valley Conference She chose Penn over Arizona, Washington, Yale, Bucknell, Saint Louis, Duquesne, Northern Illinois and Marist. At ESPNW, they have evaluations: http://www.espn.com/high-school/girls-bas ketball/r... USJN Gateway Challenge-Mary 2016: Floor-leader with combo-game; handles and attacks under control in transition game; reads pressure, passes with purpose; smooth floor game brings offensive arsenal to the arc; executes in half-court game; a sleeper prospect in the class of 2018. USJN Gateway Challenge-May 2015: Agile lead-guard with combo skills; emerging mid-range game extends to the arc; reads pressure, passes in uptempo. |

I don't know the answer to Westphillywarrior's question, but I did notice earlier that only one member of the MBB recruiting class is enrolling at Wharton. |

Only one slot? I didn't know that Wharton had its own basketball team. |

It's interesting. As I have looked at our teams the past few years, I have been surprised that, given the draw that Wharton is, only a handful of players indicated that they were in Wharton. Is there really a quota (or might that only apply to early decision applicants)? P.S. I do agree with P38 though |

Thanks for that update. Another really good recruit for the Penn women. Looks like she is a very strong player on offense and defense. She can even shoot well from three point range. http://highschoolsports.syracuse.com/news/article/... |
