Lehigh's 6-7 PF Ed Porter is reportedly academically ineligible for the upcoming semester. That effectively leaves LU with only eight players - unless one of their two injured centers miraculously becomes a contributor. Worse, they now only have one interior player - freshman center James Karnik, who has been quite good so far. Porter was a juco transfer, and it appears Lehigh was afraid they would take some flak for bringing in a recruit from a junior college. When he signed, their press release noted his HS GPA and his Juco GPA - both of which mean nothing without a lot of context. "Porter is a junior college transfer, who just graduated from Florida Southwestern State College. Strong in the classroom, Porter posted a 3.8 GPA this past year and was a strong student coming out of high school (4.1 GPA)."
