Thought it might be good to have a thread for the four or five of us on here to share any plans to go to road games this season.

I was just able to arrange the beginning of some business travel to fly through Cincy/Northern Kentucky on Harvard-UK weekend, so I'm planning to be at Rupp.

In Minnesota, we are having an event for the Minnesota game on December 30. We have discounted tickets for that game if anyone is interested.

I would imagine Mr. 78 and maybe a couple others will take in some of the Wooden games?

Others?

I’m going to try to make a couple of the NYC-area games. Sadly (as seems to be a pattern) the Princeton game is Sloan Sports Analytics weekend, so I’ll be back in Boston on the weekend when Harvard is down here for what feels like the umpteenth consecutive year. Some combination of @Manhattan, @Fordham and @Columbia is most likely for me.

Certainly Manhattan, Fordham, Columbia, Princeton and Penn. Maybe Kentucky, but unlikely.

California tournament should be great for those of you out there. Tough draw in first round (St. Mary's). Since when does the fifth highest ranked team in the field play the top seed in the first round? There are 3 teams ranked around 250 or below. Remember reading a journalist thinking that these are the best two teams in the tournament.

Harvard owes St. Mary's from 2012-13. Harvard led the entire game and by as much as 18, holding a 69-68 lead in the waning seconds. Someone missed a last second free throw and, on a ridiculous call, the home cooked officiating called a Harvard player for an over the back foul on the rebound with 1.1 seconds left. I almost never assign a victory to the officials, but this call decided the game. You got it, a rebounding foul 90 feet away, up by a point with a second remaining. Anyway, of course St. Mary's was in the bonus and made the two free throws to win 70-69.

This was the squad without Casey and Curry and the game was played at St. Mary's. Harvard did an amazing job on Dellavedova (yes - that Dellavedova), holding him to 4 points on 1-13 shooting.

Saunders, Chambers, Rivard and Webster played almost the entire game, while Travis was a beast with 19 points in 24 minutes.

PAYBACK TIME!

I will also be at Rupp.

I plan to make the games at the Wooden Classic. My team's season ends mid-Feb, so there is slight possibility of making Penn-Princeton games. Otherwise, I will have to wait until Ivy League Tournament and, hopefully, NCAA game(s).

Well, I'll be at the Penn game at Harvard, but that isn't a road trip for you guys. But anyone who wants to schmooze Ivy basketball over a beer is welcome to contact me.

New York resident so Fordham & Columbia are musts. Will add Manhattan if The Game is not for Harvard share of title.

All in for the Wooden Classic and Rupp Arena. GW is definite, but Minnesota is not at this point. Will do 3 other Ivy road games - Yale and P/P. Hoping for 2 days at the Cathedral for the Tourney.

I love Providence....in the summer. Waterfire is great, the restaurants are great and Newport is 30 minutes away.

Winter in Providence? Cold, gray, and not that much to do. Guess that's why the beer drinking is a must.

(I actually have been to quite a few Penn-Brown games up there, though, as well as called a few on XPN back at Marvel, including the famed game after the Blizzard of '78, where I had to walk from the Amtrak station to get there. So I have fondness in my heart for those memories)

@digamma @84Grad - let me know if you want to meet up for a beer pre-game in Lexington.

Pre-Rupp beer sounds good. I never rule out 9 am beer, but perhaps the Wooden beer would be better the night before we beat St. Mary’s or after we win the Championship. Ok, let’s just say yes to a beer no matter when the outcome. The wife is making the trip to Fullerton, and we’ll be close to the Arena.

I'll be at the Wooden Legacy games, and we may have a get-together, via the local club. Please email me at maurice@cycads.com if you're interested in finding out more.

Thanks

I thought Kentucky game is 3:30PM local time, so plenty of time to get a beer (or bourbon) before the game.

Let's plan on getting together at Wooden Legacy games this week.
