1. Pomeroy ranks the most recent three games as the toughest 3-game stretch in Bison history: 38 Arkansas, 15 UNC, 35 Maryland. Only two other times in modern history has BU faced three consecutive top 75 teams (Pomeroy). When and who? 2. Despite the difficulty of the schedule, Zach Thomas is averaging 23.3 ppg. With increasing defensive efforts against him, it will be hard to maintain that pace - but who knows. Only four Bison in the last 49 years have averaged 20+ ppg for a season. Who was the most recent one? And who were the other three?

I’ll guess in 2005: HC, KU, and Wisconsin. |

Al Leslie has to be one of the three. I don't think Muscala averaged over 20, but had to be close. |

1. I think we already had this conversation. St. Joe's, Pitt and Holy Cross in 2004-05 to go with the run in the 2005 post-season. 2. Al Leslie was definitely one as was Patrick King. I will guess King as the most recent and Bob Barry as a third??? |

As to #2, the four after the 67-68 season were Al Leslie (20-9 in 79-80), Chris Simpson (20.5 in 93-94), Patrick King (20.3 in 91-92) and Greg Leggett (20.2 in 89-90). Jim Wherry averaged 20.4 in 67-68, and in 60-61 Joe Steiner averaged 22 and Dick Kniffen averaged 20.1 Muscala's best was 18.7 in his senior year (12-13), as did Barry in 78-79. |

For #1, I'll say Arizona, Nevada, Purdue. Last two games of the NIT run, first game of the next season. Does that count? |

The answer is the one posted by Bison63, two strings of games that both occurred in 2004-05: A) 49 St. Joes, 24 Pitt, 66 Holy Cross; and B) 66 Holy Cross, 11 Kansas, 17 Wisconsin. Note that both Pitt and Kansas were ranked higher when BU beat them. As for the other question, Bison54 correctly found the answer. The most recent player to average 20+ was Chris Simpson in 1994. Patrick King did it in 1992, Leggett in '90, and Leslie in '80.

Docter62 got the other string of St Joes, Pitt, and HC. I forgot that those games were consecutive. |

Here's another trivia question. Please give your answer without researching. Jimmy Sotos was picked as the PL Rookie of the Week this week. Who was the last Bison male player to win that award before Sotos?

Has to be Zach. (Saw Show is back playing again and is Binghamton's 2nd leading scorer so far.) |

Show was the answer. Got the last award in 2015 after his brilliant performance at American to lead the Bison to a win that was necessary to clinch the regular season title. Here's one more. Virginia beat Wisconsin yesterday despite not shooting any FT's at all. That was only the 3rd time in recent years that a winning team didn't get to the line even once. One of the three was Bucknell. Who can remember which Bison team won without shooting a FT and who was it against?

Ayers' senior year against St Francis in the home opener. Refs completely swallowed their whistles A game without any FTs should be a very fast game. Did the entire game take less than 90 minutes?

Ayers' senior year against St Francis in the home opener. Refs completely swallowed their whistles Nice get 54. I went back to look at the boxscore to see who the officials were. Names didn't mean anything to me. What I found interesting, however, is in their next two games the following week, the team were 6-of-8 from the line at St. John's and 5-of-8 at Albany, meaning in a 3-game stretch, they were just 11-of-16 from the foul line. By comparison, his year's team has gone to the foul line 106 times in its last 3 games. |

What is also interesting is that team didn't get to the FT line much despite having Ayers, Haas, and Kaspar in the starting lineup.

Could it be that team was a jump shooting team that rarely took it inside? (No idea, just thinking.)

Could it be that team was a jump shooting team that rarely took it inside? (No idea, just thinking.) Yes, that was the type of offense being run at the time - although it didn't necessarily fit the style of play of Haas, Kaspar, and Ayers. They would have loved to take it inside more. On the plus side, they had very few turnovers and were great on the defensive boards.
