Perhaps we should start a contest: pick the starting lineup for Harvard. The permutations so far have been fascinating/disturbing. The BU starters did a nice job (especially Perez’s energy which was critical in several games last year). Team really needs to lock down on rotation with 3 solid contests before league play begins. Getting some sort of rhythm (which has been lacking due to a variety of factors both in TA’s control and out of his control) will be essential on both ends of the floor. After today, Minnesota and Vermont, there’s two Dartmouth games and a suddenly very interesting game vs. Wofford (given their recent big win). The six game stretch is a perfect lead-in to the heart of Ivy play, assuming we get back to full-strength with Aiken and Baker. If we are able to avoid big injuries/departures that the others have suffered, the team should be a handful with talent and depth. Hope Egi continues to look as effective as he did the other night. He was lost last when he started a number of games last year but he looks much better physically and was moving much better vs. BU. Really would help to have him available to spell Lewis. Shot 3s well at home the other night, but Corey was just 1-6. If his stroke picks up, our offense starts to look imposing with Chris on the inside (gotta keep feeding him) and Seth and Bryce being explosive inside and out. Of course, TOs remain the other big problem. 19 vs. BU without Bryce. Hopeful that will decrease with the aforementioned rhthym through repetition. Hope we can get Baker integrated (his primary offensive contribution cannot be 3 pointers). Needs a specific role on offense. As I said before I think he would be effective catching the ball at free throw line and either shooting or passing to wings or down low to Chris. Seth would also be effective there given his ability to drive the lane. 2 more hours on Amtrak and 3 till game time. Can’t wait to see if my own preferred pentafecta of Lewis, Towns, Aiken, Johnson and Perez starts (ok I know that’s too big, but I at least want Perez to get another 15-20 minutes). Merry Christmas to all! Hope to get an early present today. |

I’ll wait til they come out again, but it looked like we were missing a bunch. Hope Aiken, Baker & Basset were in getting last minute treatments. Ugh is right. |

Harvard should be down by a dozen. 5-11 from 3 keeping us close. Bad turnovers , including 4 from our point guards. Seth had two clear offensive fouls. With his athleticism he should be able to score against this team. Can we modify the no red shirt rule retroactively? Steeves is a really nice player. Kept getting good position for easy short shots and passed well. More selective (sensible) lineups in the second half would keep this close. I can dream. |

Egi only played 2 minutes. Really tough without Aiken and McCarthy. Juzang, Haskett and Chatfield not really PG’s. Chatfield was the only guard in the starting lineup and GW (Steeve’s?) figures it out to score first 9 points. 30-24 at half Hitting 3’s (5-11) |

Normal starters to start second half. Hope we contain Steeves. |

Nice surge by GW opens it 12. Live ball TOs will do that to you. |

Still waiting for a series of strong defensive trips. We’ve missed a few shots that would have deadened the run. |

Another bad foul by Towns. Sitting with 4 fouls with 11 to go. |

Simple truth is that Harvard without Aiken is not a very good team. Juzang/Haskett have a ways to go to be capable backups on the point. I do like watching Djuricic’s effort. |

Limited possessions, but Perez did a really nice job on Steeves. |
