Good start to the game for Towns. Moving well on offense and was in position to commit fouls and didn’t. Wholesale substitutions lead to really sloppy play. What a surprise. |

Beginning to think Aiken is an important player for this team. Just saying. |

Defense doing well, but stagnant offense without Bryce. No transition game at all. No Egi again. Baker on the Court once (1 minute?)? Haskett has dropped below Juzang in usage now. |

Djuricic playing reasonable defense on Lynch, opposing center. I thought he was a good 3 point shooter though: 0-4 today, 21% on the season. |

Good observations about Djuricic. Continues to impress with his energy. If his shot was falling, he’d be a major force. He’s had some good looks. |

0-9 for Towns and Djuricic from 3. Ouch. |

Lewis effective down low and Johnson hits 2 three's to make it a 3 point game, but Minnesota scores on 3 straight possessions to go back up by 11. Gotta get Bryce back and hit 3's. Simple, right? |

3's Johnson + Bassey = 6-13 Everyone else = 1-16 |

Positives Defense looked a bit better. Allowed a few back breaking 3s, but some of the shots made by Minnesota were contested shots. 33% by Minnesota from fboth floor and 3. Rotation taking shape a bit more. Mike’s 7 man core is correct. Will help when Juzang and Haskett have their minutes reduced upon Aiken’s return. Brief period with lost lineup in 1st half. Life from Corey. Djuricic’s energy Lewis much more comfortable with post moves. Thought Bassey looked more in rhythm on both ends. 10 rebounds. Thought Towns was at least a little more aggressive. He needs to be even when Aiken returns. He won’t shoot 4-20 often, although I would prefer if he had fewer 2 pt jumpers instead of shots he should be able to get at rim. 9 TOs Lewis and Towns avoided foul trouble in second half, Negatives 22% shooting from 3. 33% from floor. 49-36 on boards. 8 FT attempts and we didn’t deserve many more. 18-20 shooting by Minnesota didn’t help, although they shoot well from FT line. Another OOC game without real starters at full strength. Towns and Djuricic 0-13 from 3. Won’t win with that vs. second tier of Ivy. But that won’t happen again, right? Baker remains lost on offense. Arms flailing looking for pass at three point line. Needs to find a better way to contribute. No Perez.. No Egi. Important tuneup vs. Vermont on Tuesday. Looking forward to 1st trip this season up to Lavietes vs. Dartmouth next Saturday. |

Had a good Harvard section there actually. Agree with many of the comments above on the game. Liked some of Amaker's O/D substitutions late in the game. He might be starting to take the season seriously. Ran into Siyan's parents after the game. They said he's adjusting to a very quiet town in Austria and trying to see different places when he doesn't have games. Otherwise it sounds like he'd go stir crazy. I asked her how much she would have liked this game last season and she said the Minnesota coaching staff said they wouldn't play teams with hometown kids. I had wondered about that. |
