Wow! Great win for the program. Great efforts by all who played. Both teams competed hard. Choh was immense at times with two monster dunks, a great block, and keys assists inside in second half leading to layups for others. Two FTs to seal the win with 5 seconds left. One of the best wins for Brown in years. |

I won’t dampen your enthusiasm. It was a very good win, and maybe a signature win of the MM and Staff recruiting success. I agree Choh was the difference. Not just with dunks but the big block and a huge assist down the stretch to DeWolf - who also had a really nice game, particularly on the boards. Okolie played big too, his scoring down the stretch made a difference. And what’s better than seeing Cambridge so thoroughly outplay Oni in the matchup of the two most exciting young guards in the league. Most promising sign was the fact that they won when Anderson didn’t shoot it much, didn’t get inside hardly at all, and was more distributor than scorer. That’s great news. Once again Phills was unstoppable and what a performance by Copeland off the bench. Those two were the story. I also thought Yale’s defense kept the Brown offense off balance all game - they showed on Anderson when he’d get around a pick, and had two bodies on him every time he approached the paint. I thought officiating was terrible. Atrocious. More than anything on the two breakaway fouls. Oni should have been tossed - period. He was frustrated after Cambridge blocked his three pointer, took him down and then gave a clear knee to his head. Unbelievable to me that they didn’t throw him out. League needs to look at that too. But calling the breakaway on Cambridge a few minutes later was nearly as ridiculous. Two horrible officiating calls that happened to go against Brown. Nice win, beating these guys for the first time in a long time.

THe Refs were bad at both ends, but worse for Brown. Cambridge and Okolie took turns on Oni. Reportedly there were a number of NBA scouts at the game and Oni didn't do himself a lot of good. Massey was also effective for Brown and Hunsaker played great D. |

Hard fought win and not totally surprising as reflected by Vegas odds. Brown has some young talent and Martin has them playing hard. They appear to be a work-in-progress with ups and downs based on tonight's performance. Was surprising that Oni missed the shot to tie the game with 3 seconds left - well designed play by Jones. Toughest part of game is listening to the Bears color man. Very good win! |

There were 2 feeds on the call. Tyler may be a Brown homer but he know basketball. Anderson is awful on the FB audio and knows little about BB. |

Brown scored 48 points in the second half and out rebounded Yale by 5. Nice. Copeland (10 of 13 form the floor) and Phills had 26 and 19 to keep Yale in the game. |

The Bears have a core group of 8 players as the league season starts. Sullivan is the ninth man and played only 5 minutes last night. All 8 will return next year and includes 3 freshmen and a soph transfer. Under both Angel and Martin they have had leads against the toughest teams in the league but couldn't sustain for the win. Last week they went toe-to-toe for 30 minutes against a Yale team that is very talented despite the loss of two starters, and a complete 40 minutes last night. The Bears can certainly compete for an Ivy Tourney spot in what will be a wide open league. And the future looks very bright. A frustrating aspect of the Phil Brown era ('71-'75) was the program could not sustain the talent level. At the time it seemed as though the school felt it would send the wrong image to be very successful in athletics. Times change. I don't suspect that will be an issue the time around, as the league is all on board. |

Congrats Bears! I was very impressed by not only some of the individual talents, but more importantly by some exceptional ball movement at times. Missed Fuller, who I thought was a rather effective Ivy big last year. Brown's future does look bright and that's really great. By the way, who is the color commentator? I've noticed for years (and posted) that he is possibly the strongest 'homer' I've ever listened to. Not suggesting more than that, but at times he sounds like the proverbial guy in the seat behind you who thinks the ref's can hear him. Authentic, but misplaced. |

Congrats to Brown, your team is playing well. The Ivy tournament makes the regular season order of finish for the top 3 meaningless. But with all of the early injuries maybe you guys can knock Yale or Harvard or Princeton out of fourth place. That would provide some fun. Good luck. |

Definitely got some good evidence for a wide open league this weekend. Interestingly, Dartmouth is the only team to lose a league game at home so far. And that game went to OT. With apologies to Harvarddadgrad, it would have been fun if Dartmouth had pulled that out. I still lean toward Harvard and Yale figuring it out, if I have to predict, but the first two games of the league season don't show them hitting the accelerator and looking better than the rest. So who knows. Maybe it really will be another season where everyone has a legit shot at the tournament down the stretch. |
