Princeton -4 1/2.

According to Pomeroy, Princeton is now 143 and Penn is 162. A Penn win tomorrow night would most certainly have us overtake Princeton, right?

Penn has no chance of winning. They are going to shoot 50% from 3 in their gym, we are going to shoot 28% and that will be that. Princeton sucks though.

The current ranking shows you just how awful our scheduling was this year (in addition to the IL having a down year overall).

It would have to be a decent sized win (by a couple possessions or more).

As for the scheduling, here are the projected profiles of the league's top three (SPOILER ALERT - IT'S NOT GOOD!!!):

Harvard
Tier 1: 0-2
Tier 2: 0-4
Tier 3: 4-6
Tier 4: 9-3

Penn
Tier 1: 0-1
Tier 2: 1-2
Tier 3: 4-4
Tier 4: 15-2

Princeton
Tier 1: 1-3
Tier 2: 0-1
Tier 3: 3-5
Tier 4: 12-3

Presumably if you included the IL tourney there's at least the possibility of one more T2 game for Penn.

Not with the new home/road tiers. Would need to have an opponent be Top 75 RPI to be a home Tier II win.

Princeton, Harvard or team four could pick up a Tier II win if they beat Penn (road game Tier IIs are Top 135), but the Quakers really would need to finish 13-1 (mayyyybe 12-2) in league play to be able to absorb a home loss in the tourney and stay Top 135.

OK... So Penn's 10-point win tomorrow evening should do it. If/when that happens, I'm buying the first round of drinks at Conte's Pizza for any Penn posters on this board after the game... We will be celebrating another memorable Penn win at the Hangar!!

A bit of history on Jadwin Gym, for those who are unaware:

Jadwin Gymnasium is named for Chelmsly Worthington Jadwin IV, heir to the storied Jadwin Finance fortune. Chelmsly's great grandfather, Busworth ("Buzzard") Jadwin was a financial innovator who originated the payday loan ("Why wait for your money? Get it now from Jadwin! Jadwin Payday Loans: exploiting the vulnerable since 1906!") Buzzard Jadwin's namesake building stands as an enduring testament to the social conscience of Princeton University.

Looks like the line is settled in at Princeton -5 or -5 1/2.

I'm sticking with my prediction of Penn with a 10-point victory, and I'm sticking with my offer of buying the first round or drinks at Conte's Pizza after the game if Penn does win. As P38 can attest, I have a big heart, so I will even include any Princetonians to help ease their pain.

Funny, that is an enduring memory of the win at Michigan when Jerome hit that runner. Just spontaneously hugging strangers in our little contingent of Penn fans.

The other thing last night reminded me of was the year we blew out Princeton at Jadwin after blowing the huge lead at home. It’s one thing to do it when your rival is down. It’s another to do it in what you expect to be a pretty even fight.

Penn played very well. Utilized the inside-outside game to perfection and Princeton could not defend both. When Penn has guys hitting the 3, AJ will get single coverage. Great great gameplan by Donahue and execution by the team, led by Foreman, who had his best game in a Penn uniform.

That being said, Princeton is undermanned and had one of its best players playing injured.

Wow... I rarely agree with P38, but I do here. Cannady has a good game and shoots 7-8, instead of 2-8, Penn might lose this game... From all appearances, Cannady was struggling with an injury. If we meet Princeton in the Ivy League tourney vs. a healthy Cannady, we could very likely see a different result....

You guys are smoking something. We have guys as hurt or more than Cannady. If he is out there, he is fine.

Princeton is a good team, we just present some matchup problems they likely don't have with other teams. I would be surprised if they don't go at least 5-3/6-2 the rest of the way and end up at the Palestra.

FWIW, he was doing that during the Brown game, too. You could clearly see he was gimpy at one point, whereupon he left the court to ride the bike.

He then proceeded to play inspirationally down the stretch--hitting some real tough bail out shots.

Maybe, but Cannady was doing the exact same thing with the bike against Brown, where he played all 45 minutes and scored 27. The night after playing 40+ and scoring 16 on Yale while doing the same with the bike. So i’m not sure he was doing anything different from what he usually does. But who knows?

Look, do I have to lecture you on the difference between soreness and injury? Our guys are NOT injured--to me, Cannady looked injured. But if Penn10 wants to regale us with his inside knowledge, I'm happy to hear it. Up close, no one appeared to be injured.

I get that many players aren't 100% at this point of the season and I don't know what's up with Cannady, but he was moving slower than anyone else out there and that isn't his usual speed. He still made some plays but he was mostly a non-factor on the offensive end. He stood in the corner most of the time.

I stand by my statement. My point is, if you guys are saying Cannady "looks hurt" because he played bad and rode a bike and our guys "look fine" because they played well, that is different from what is reality. Eddie

They are all out there so they are all fine.
