Stone Gettings will not be playing at Cornell next season. The initial report implied he would be graduating at the end of this year, but Jeff Goodman's tweet noted that Gettings will redshirt next season and then graduate in December. As a result, he will use his last year of eligibility for the '19-'20 season. Meanwhile, Noah Yates is off to Richmond to play for former Princeton forward Chris Mooney ('94). While not official at this time, it is likely that Yates will have two years of eligibility remaining. http://www.richmond.com/sports/college/school s/uni... |

We’ve got to find a way to get more guys on first team All-Ivy so they don’t get mad and transfer. |

I think that, if a player feels has a reasonably good chance of getting into meaningful postseason play, he'll stick around. Otherwise there's clearly a transfer risk. |

A lot of it has to do with the program and the coaching. The bottom four teams really underestimate what it requires to attract and retain talent. Academically these kids want that Ivy League education. Athletically they want to play at big time program. Harvard has done an excellent job of offering both. Scheduling matters too. Top talent wants to play against top talent. They want to travel and play in bigger tournaments. Princeton has stepped up their schedule in recent years, playing in Hawaii. When your former AAU team played a better travel schedule than your college team you're going to have trouble retaining kids.

Of course, the list would not be complete without mentions of former All-Ivy stars Evan Boudreaux (Dartmouth) heading to Purdue and Makai Mason (Yale) moving to Baylor for the fall of 2018. 247 Sports lists both on its Top 10 Transfers for 2018-2019. https://247sports.com/ContentGallery/Colleg e-baske... 5. MAKAI MASON, YALE TO BAYLOR Mason impressed Baylor coaches when he lit up the Bears in the 2016 NCAA Tournament, dropping 31 points, six rebounds and four assists in Yale’s 79-75 upset win. Now the key question will just be whether Mason is healthy or not. He missed all but one game this past season, playing just 21 minutes in 2017-18 after suffering a foot injury. A healthy Mason, like the one who averaged 16.0 points and nearly four assists per game his second season at Yale, is one of the best guards in the Big 12 and helps Baylor reset after the Bears lose point guard Manu Lecomte. 10A. EVAN BOUDREAUX, DARTMOUTH TO PURDUE Purdue is somewhat of a program in transition in 2018-19. Point guard Carsen Edwards returns, but most of his supporting cast — guards PJ Thompson and Dakota Mathias, forward Vincent Edwards and center Isaac Haas — is gone. That doesn’t mean the Boilermakers are going to fall into the abyss, as they have some players who have been ready to step up. But the most interesting non-Carsen Edwards piece could be Dartmouth transfer Boudreaux. A 6-foot-8 forward, Boudreaux averaged 17.7 points and 9.4 rebounds per game as a freshman, then followed that up with 17.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game as a sophomore. Boudreaux hit 65 three-pointers over those two years, giving him excellent stretch-four potential. |

For now, they have the best of both worlds -- Ivy education and degree plus a chance to spit in the eye of Semi- pro college basketball. Good luck, guys. |

Taylor Rooks of Harvard, who was named second team All-Ivy last year, will be a graduate transfer at Michigan this year. She played at Stanford for her first year ('14-'15), then transferred to Harvard. After sitting out '15-'16, she played the last two years. As a result, she has one year of eligibility left. https://www.freep.com/story/sports/college/ univers... |

Plenty of that material on the Penn board right now. But we can have some enjoyable conversation here about the Princeton record last year. |

He has ALWAYS been one to dish it out but not be able to take it. This thread reminded me of last year and just how great that first week in February truly was. A super bowl win and a total dismantling of the tigers at the airplane hangar?! Doesn't get much better than that. 82-65 and it wasn't even that close. |

Awww, he's OK. Just living on the Gulf of Cortez, sipping a Corona and is about a decade or so behind on what is going on. He'd be a fun guy to drag his butt to a game at the Palestra and hash out old times like why can't Princeton get a player like Barnes Hauptfuhrer any more. |
