According to Verbal Commits Joseph Smoyer a 6'11 230lb center from Portland will transfer to Columbia. He is from Franklin HS in Oregon. It appears he has two years of eligibility remaining. Glad he is joining us. He's tall, was all-state honorable mention his senior year, and from his coach's comments, can probably pass better than Fauld or Tape. But we shouldn't get too far ahead of ourselves--he only averaged less than 2 ppg on a team that ranked 35 slots below us on Kenpom. Does he have to wait a transfer year? And what lineups do we see him with? |
