Kallin Spiller, the Western Athletic Conference ("WAC") Freshman of the Year, has just announced that she will be transferring to Columbia this fall from the University of Seattle. At 6'3" she adds height and athleticism to to the Columbia Women's Basketball incoming class. Columbia Coach Megan Griffith has six very talented incoming recruits.

Sydney Brown and Mikayla Markham, our two women basketball recruits from New Jersey, are very highly rated. Brown, who played for Blair Academy, has a 90 rating from ESPN and Markham, a point guard from St. Rose, is considered one of the best players in the Garden State. The ladies also have a powerful forward from Florida, an excellent prospect from the midwest and a talented guard from the Washington D.C. area. Columbia loses Camille Zimmerman to the Minnesota Lynx of WBA, but the incoming group should be outstanding. Megan Griffith is a terrific recruiter and an excellent game coach as well.

The Greenwich Time has a profile on Fall '19 recruit Kaitlyn Davis of Greenwich Academy.

https://www.greenwichtime.com/highschool/article/G...

The article notes that Davis missed 7 games last year due to a leg injury and will, most likely, miss this season as she recuperates from a right knee meniscus injury.

- A Norwalk native, the 6-foot-1 Davis has played every position for Greenwich Academy, exhibiting stellar ball handling/shooting skills and a strong low-post game. She said Columbia has plans for her at the small forward/swing position. -

This is why I love you, rbg- the country and Donald Trump surely need a man (or woman) like you, ready and able to change the subject at the drop a hat!
Now go enjoy your Thanksgiving; watch the (Detroit) Lions game, but don't fill your plate up too, too much-
by Friday, you'll surely have bigger fish to fry, in parts of the Ivy country further north and east of New York City.

Thanks rgb and Antiu for bringing some good cheer to otherwise dull morning--I watched the Knicks lose again at the Garden last night--not much to comment about except that Portland can really shot the ball.

Davis looks like an elite athlete who will make an impact in the Ivy League if she can overcome her knee meniscus injury. I'm rooting for her.

I didn't know about Davis' commitment, but Megan Griffith is recruiting another stellar class to go along with this year's very promising freshman group. Watch Abigail Hsu, a highly rated, athletic 5'11 guard from Parkland, Florida. See the link below about her athletic skills. She also has a commitment from Carly Rivera, a 5'6" point guard from Washington, D.C. power, St. Johns Prep. And then, of course, she has 6'3"' Kaillin Spillar, the WAC freshman of the year, who transferred into Columbia earlier this year. Griffih is obviously a great recruiter and in my opinion, an excellent game coach. The Ivy League is really competitive on the women's side, but I believe in her. Let's see how the Lady Lions do today against Houston, a Texas power.

P6, Hope you had a great Thanksgiving, and are now ready to answer a couple of questions, too:
#1- where's your game report on the women's game
v. Houston?

#2-when will you start promulgating your next big idea?
( I do happen to have advance notice on what that is, but respect your right to put it out there when you're ready- so take your time; but hurry up!)
