Poltonavage's play rallied for the semifinal win, so it'll be an all-Bucknell final: https://twitter.com/PatriotLeagueTV/statu s/1009048... |

This is no contest. I never get tired of watching Kimbal's shot. Beyond that is what he did in the last 20 seconds leading up to that shot - loose ball, putback FG, FT, recovers blocked shot, & assist to Nana. He had a hand in 8 of the 9 points to win the game. But my favorite part is Sean O'Brien's reaction. |

Birdsong Video: http://www.espn.com/video/clip?id=2241380 4 CBS Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2cAcpnUqhw One thing not mentioned enough is how much harder the shot was because of the final pass being deflected. Kimbal had to reach down and behind him to get the ball, followed by an immediate shot from deep.

Kimbal's shot was voted PL play of the year. Here's a PL interview from earlier today with Kimbal about the shot and the team: https://twitter.com/PatriotLeagueTV/statu s/1011979...

Bucknell article: http://www.bucknellbison.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_O... One interesting item is that this game set the NCAA record for the biggest comeback in the final minute of a game to win without going to OT.

Any idea what the record is for the pre-3-point era? |

Any idea what the record is for the pre-3-point era? This one is slightly different because it didn't involve a 10-point comeback, but I think the best comeback ever may have been the 1974 UNC-Duke game. In that contest, UNC trailed by 8 points with 17 seconds left and ended up winning in OT. Obviously no 3-pointers involved. Duke turned the ball over twice on inbound passes and also missed the front end of a one-and-one. Too bad the game involved two teams that I both root against.

And there was this close-but-no-cigar comeback by the Bison in 2007. "But down 56-40 with 2:00 to play, the Bison scored 14 points in 53 seconds without allowing Saint Francis to cross midcourt, and miraculously they had two shots to tie in the final 20 seconds but could not get one to drop." http://www.bucknellbison.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCL... |

In the "might have been" category, a quote from that article: "Freshman center Todd O'Brien had 14 points, 13 rebounds and four blocked shots in his first career start for the Bison."

That loss had BisonStu's fingerprints all over it. From deep in the vault, the pregame discourse:
I wouldn't worry about this one, it should be a blowout. Please don't provoke the sports gods like that! Yeesh! Remarkably oblivious and undeterred, he would just weeks later declare: "I can't see a loss to North Dakota (State) under any circumstances." North Dakota State 68 Bucknell 60 Lo, far more BisonStu devastation lay ahead. His destructive hubris inexplicably intact after his nonconference disasters, he brazenly offered this appalling assurance about league play: "Army, Navy, Lehigh are 6 gimmes." Army, Navy, Lehigh: 5 Bucknell 1 |

Nice research. I wonder if BisonStu in 2005 was a Kansas fan who predicted a 40 point win. "The Jayhawks could suit up their band and win this one easily."
